I don't *think* i have to use a stealer, it's just i'm probbably gonna sell it in a year and am thinking about resale.
If I was keeping if forever, sure..indy all the way. But for the sake of a hundred quid - is it worth the risk?
Like I said, any cheaper stealers about?
Service history is service history isn't it?
If you had a car with 50k on the clock with
zero history, then yes, a dealer or buyer would try to knock a few hundred off the value. But if you have a fully stamped book with receipts, doesn't matter whether it's a VAG specialist, independent garage or Seat dealer, it won't have an affect on resale value.
One of the lads at work didn't have a single stamp in his book for his 3 year old Golf 1.6 as he refused to pay over £200 for an oil & filter change, but he kept all his receipts from the VW dealer where he got his service parts from. When he part ex'd the Golf, he still got top book for it.
Had my 20k service done at JP Board Seat Specialist (Ex. Seat Dealer) in Bridgend last month...
