FK Automotive Highsport Coilovers

I've been contemplating coilovers for a while but I don't personally know anyone who's got them. I want to go slightly lower, maybe 20-30mm, but I don't want to compromise the ride too much. Standard suspension feels somewhat sporty without being too hard over bumps and potholes. Are coilovers the way to go for what I want?

well if you want to play around with the ride height then yes, coilovers are great, also they are stainless steel which means they wont rust (in theory)

thats something to look out for if you go for a standard kit

i have fk highsports in my toledo. lowered all the way at the back and as far as it can go with the adjustable droplinks without rubbing on the front driveshaft at the front. The ride isnt that harsh, and feels more driveable than standard suspension. On the note of gmax, my mate has them in his leon and they are no way near as good as mine, they are far stiffer and bouncier, not to my liking. venom motorsport are doing fk highsports for £383 delivered.

You should go for the Koni FSD's with Eibach springs apparently they keep the same ride until you cane it about which is when they stiffen up. I was told to go for them and they happen to be getting fitted on Friday so i'll let you know how they are.

Well coilovers are much harsher in ride quality. Coilovers are just as good quality as any other product, again depends on how much you spend.I'd sake FK are on the poorer side of the scale.

Yea just let me know when mate, I will let Slick know when your popping down so you can see both cars...

Yeh, thats the prob, still too low mate, Im only looking for 20mm, this makes my selection very limited. Ive found some Spax Coilovers that start at 10mm, think they my only choice, as they a fairly good make and do the job I want

These are fine if you just want to drop the car to a set level and end up with a set ride (give or take a bit). At the end of the day, they are not adjustable, so they not going to stiffen up and soften a great amount on their own without some kind of adjustment. If they do then I stand corrected, but dont see how they can work as efficiently as coilovers !!!

To be honest I'm a bit apprehensive about Eibach, I've had their springs on my last car (Fiat Stilo) and they made it feel "whallowy" around long fast bends. I've had Spax on my Mk3 Astra, they felt spot on but they were only cheap and I'm not going to treat the FR with the same cheap stuff and I've got Avo IIRC on my Rover Coupe but they're waaaay too hard!

worth every penny though mate, you get what you pay for

this is how much i am looking to spend when i invest in some coilovers
