E-Window Switch: Broke.

My mate managed to break my passenger side window switch. The little white picture of the window has popped out, leaving my black up/down switch with a hole in it and reduced functionality; now it only works down.

I need to bring the window back up using the driver side.

Is this a known issue? Something that happens to a few or what? He maintains the fact he wasn't playing with it or pushing it hard.. just using the rocker-switch motion that they operate on.

First thing that's broken on my car and it's p****d me off.

not read about it before, but at least its a cheap fix if it is just the switch itself thats damaged

Well yeh, I was hoping it'd be an easy fix. Haven't had chance to inspect the damage yet.. if I do decide to fix it myself.. I'll try get some photos together (if it's a tricky, fiddly or hard job).. saves others making any if all the mistakes I do.

I'm assuming this kind of component is covered by my warranty. If all goes to pot, I'll just get it done under warranty.

Its not difficult to fix your self mate just a little tricky
Everything basically pops out of you door card but if i remeber correctly the actually switch is a sealed unit so i think it was just a matter of shaking it a little untill the piece fell back out as it falls right underneath the the rocker and jams it.

really i should have taken mine in to get fixed underwarrenty to but just haven't been able to justify being with out a car yet for something that is pretty much cosmetic and they may turn round and say that its our own fault that we broke it. But if a few people are having it happen they may be aware of it now and just fix it

Mine did the same. I managed to take the switch apart and glue the little picture back in place. It was a bit fiddly but didn't cost me anything! I found that everything comes apart quite easily.

Ahhh.. so it is the small white window "picture" that falls down and prevents the rocker moving properly?
