just been down the breakers, and there's a mk3 20vt cupra in there in ovni yellow! smashed up but the interior looks pretty mint. does anyone know if its just a strait swap when swapping the seats, or would there neeed to be modifications? the seats look sooooo much nicer than the mk2 ones, and i might swap them if they sell them cheap-ish...

straight swap, but you really might want to think twice about taking seats from a crashed car, they may be weakened already

yeah thats a good point, the airbag was out, so it may have been a high impact smash, my brother-inlaw is gonna go down with me later to check them out, we'll check for weakness, although i don't think it'll be easy to tell.

by the way, i wasn't going to the breakers for seats, i actually went for a return hose pipe from the radiator as mines got a split in it, so car is getting very hot (92c) and every time i fill the water coolant resevoir up it just flys strait out the pipe! but i just saw the mk3 and thought 'hmm they look nice' so im not that desperate for them, plus i haven't got 150 quid to just blow on some seats, but i will keep it in mind, if i've got money lying around when i next get paid, ill ping an email over to you.

Hmmmm, the mk3 seats do look very nice. They are not as much "In Your Face" as the tiger stripes, lol. One problem with them tho is that they aren't as supportive around corners as the mk2 seats are.

funny you say that i've never found my seats squeeze me in at all in fact quite scary how easy it is to jump out of em

not like my old recaro's used to

I've fitted MK3 cupra seats in my MK2, although they are nowhere near as supportive as my old Recaro's are, they make the car look much more modern and are not quite as "explosion in a paint factory" as most of the standard MK2 stuff.

i don't find my mk2 seats that supportive, i don't think they wrap round us enough. so i wouldn't be botherd with changing them as i dont rate the style of them anyway. unless you've got a big rear end, there's still room to slide about in them.

Yes, the mk3 golf seats also fit the mk2 Beeza. Meaning if you found a nice VR6 highline interior, you could fit that.

Jake,

I know the one you're talking about. They have a lime green Cordoba in stock and the interior is mint. If I didn't have the Recaro N-Joy's I'd have had it. That car had a shunt on the side (I was going to have the splitter) but the engine was shunted forwards and up. Interior is fine though. Go and have a look!

PS: Now you know where I got my bonnet from in the photo I sent you the other night!

yeah the cordy was the car i used to get me rad pipe! so thats all sorted now, and yeah i would like the mk3 seats, but i really can't be paying oput for stuff like that at the moment. but depending on how long the mk3 is there for i might get them at some point....
