Atfer much thought and a small loan from my brother from uk-polos.net, I took the plunge and ordered Eibach coilovers last week. Ive not been that active on the forums in the last 4 weeks as I had Uni exams. Anyways yesterday I drove from Dundee to Aberdeen to get the suspension fitted...

[4 hours after drop-off]

I go back to the place to pick up the Beezer, and what can I say, the s3xy b1tch is sittin just right, after almost a year as a pram she was finally sittin the way god intended. This is the single biggest mod I have done to the Mk4 since I got her 3 years ago. Simply stating I was excited is a ridiculous understatement.

So I reversed her into the narrow sidestreet and off I went. What can I say guys and girls, Eibach are absolute geniuses. The bone-shaking osteoarthritis-inducing standard shocks were safely in the boot and I was creaming along these gorgeous coilovers, flowing over imperfections in the tarmac that the standard set-up wouldve shuddered over. So far, so brilliant.

Now heres the interesting bit, I had previously driven my bro's polo running the same kit, but never on the motorway. I had no idea how she was gonna ride for the 65 miles back down to Dundee. The resulting trip was the best motorway drive I have ever taken in this car. She felt so planted to the road. I didnt exactly feel lowered to the max (as in butt cheeks to the ground) but I felt safer and more stable, especially at higher speeds. I can only describe this as driving over smooth caramel (if u could do such a thing)... the faster I got, the smoother the ride became. It was completely unfazed on the same crappy roadworks that the old suspension hated, instead charging (with all 64 horses :p ) over the small potholes with no problems whatsoever. The drive down felt alot quicker than an hour, I was enjoying the ride THAT much. So Im gonna conclude by saying I am very very happy with these Eibach coilovers, they made her look tons better and ride like a dream. :)

Yes, It was the fabulous boys at Checkpoint. Chose them as my brother who studies in Aberdeen got his kit fitted from them and recommended them. Also, their quote was very good compared to Dundee and Glasgow. £750 incl. fitting and alignment. Will be getting some pics up as soon as Im back in Glasgow where my camera is based :)

PS. Aberdeen is quality, Like edinburgh but without the castle. Was very impressed with the city, made me think I shoulda picked elsewhere to study :(

Rash, you should get some kind of commission.
Im sure you've convinced hundreds of people to get coilovers/turbo's/spacers in your 8 months on this forum!!
I might be going to the gti show next month as im busy convincing the company i work for to get a stand to sell our gps trackers. I'm bound to want some mods when i see your car in the "flesh" !
