m.r.davies now you fitted your new one does it sit with the red line exactly at 12 o'clock????? if so how did you make sure it was right?????

yes it does

make sure you put the old wheel straight before you take it off
then just put the new wheel on straight, the splines are quite far apart so you'll know when its in the same position as the old wheel.

Dammit, i was gonna ring him and ask for exactly that! Forgot to do it today!

Would have snapped his head off for that money too!

Are the R32 wheels a straight fit with the LCR airbag??

yes.most 3 spoke VAG airbag will fit/leon/LCR/octavia/golf

Thanks for the advice guys. Just ordered one of the R32 steering wheels from eBay, looks the mutts compared to the standard LCR one. Nice one :D

hi warren yes all the kit i.e, exhaust,cat,FMIC, boost gauge are all fitted!!!:D
done a centre armrest, chrome bonnet n boot lifters and just got to put this steering wheel on now!!!! cant wait til i can drive again!!!!!!:cry:

i've got a R32 steering wheel in my '00 18 20VT, its a straight fit.
There's a mark on the steeringwheel center, and the splines ware it goes on, so only a dummy can fit it off center.
it's about 5-10 min work:

Looks great mate! Nice touch on the 'S' badge too. If I ever go down this route, I've got somebody who will make me a nice 'R' (as in, Cupra R) badge to go there :)
