Boost Problem - judder (pics)(fixed-coil packs popped up)

Hi,
Only had the ibiza for a couple of weeks

2001 cupra
spec list

Jabbasport remap
K03s Custom FMIC
3" Blueflame 100cell race cat Downpipe leading to 2.75" Catback Scorpion, heatwrapped.
Aquamist set at 12psi.
4 recent coils and brand new spark plugs
Forge 007p DV

Ok, not had any boost problems until today, hadn't drove the car for 36 hours, started fine and drove for 10 minutes, didnt do any hard driving so all was fine, then went out and got petrol later on

99 ron stuff which i've always used since getting the car

got onto a national limit road, all well warmed up, boosted fine in 4th and 5th without problems

then later on dropped to 4th and boosted and it started to and then stuttered really badly, power started to come then totally stopped coming

tried again in 3rd gear and also 2nd gear, and it kept doing it, fine to about 10psi, and would shoot up to 20 but would stutter and judder and just wouldnt carry on

my aquamist comes in at 12psi, injection of methanol and distilled water, but i doubt its that blocked as i wouldnt have thought it would cause it to struggle that much, more a loss of power, rather than the total block of power kicking in which i'm getting

new to the car and the engine bay so I dont really know too well on what i need to look for etc

did a couple of searches but cant see much, most just suggest hooking up to vagcom, i'm in colchester in essex if anyones local and fancies helping

Thanks
Dave

Ok have driven more

all is fine, even at 15 boost its all fine

but assoon as you hit 20-22psi, thats it

it feels like your hitting a rev limiter, bouncing off of it and keep losing power, gaining it and hitting the limit, then dropping a bit again

coil pack???

I know they're common, very common, think the last owner even left me a spare

so at a guess either came up from the heat, or sparkplugs being loose?

anyone else had this lately? or had it before

have now pushed them back in

Nothing to do with spark plugs making the coil packs pop out.

See bills post about cutting a V into the rubber on the coil pack shaft to stop them popping out.

yea I saw the V in the rubber

spark plugs are pretty new, have read that the heat can make them pop up so the V cut in helps to release the pressure and so the coils dont pop up

will check the spark plugs are in tight enough, and then will probably cut the V in

has only done this once in the 2 weeks i've owned the car, and I need to have the bonnet open once a week anyway to check my aquamist is all topped up so its not a problem just checking they are seated properly

have you got a bigger turbo? just wondered why you stuck some exhaust wrap on the charge pipe? charge leaving the turbo will be so hot anyway that i wouldn't have thought it would make much difference tbh

bolt down coilpacks are the business, but just follow bills advice and that'll sort your problem

Lol, theyre my old coil packs as well and my old washer tank.

ah, so your the one to blame for my coils popping up then hey ;)

going to stick a spare coil in the boot as I guess some if not all of the ones in there might be fairly old
