EDIT - Having got the right key (part number ending in AG worked in my case) the following is how to program the central locking, thought I'd put in Post 1 so it's easily found!!

Process Is:

1. Original Remote Key in ignition, & turned on to dash lights
2. Lock doors with Original NON Remote Key manually in door lock.
3. Press UNLOCK on new Flip key ONCE, wait 6 sec's and press UNLOCK again on Flip key.
4. Alarm or Horn will chirp once.
5. Open door again, and remove key from ignition (if you're not quick enough the alarm will go off, but nothing major)
6. Shut doors, and then test Flip remote...perfect.

Right, I've done a search & have found out all about this (mostly on the Beeza sections!)

What I'm looking for is anyone that has a working Flip Key on an Mk1 Leon.

If you fit the bill could you confirm the key part number for me.

I've got hold of one from eBoo, but reading deeper into my above mentioned search it would appear that it's for the foreign market...which is a pain in the a-hole.

However, it's the Beeza boys that have had trouble with these keys, so just want to double check to see if anyone has it working on a Leon.

P/N of the key I have is:
HL0 1J0 959 753 N

Cheers in advance!

bought one for my car last month and it works fine.

Part number is different to yours though, HL0 1J0 959 753 AG.

Good mod to do in my opinion, so good luck........just be carefull with the transponder when removing it from your spare key. Mine took a lot of patience!!

Cheers for the info, the AG key seems to be the one everyone heads for (if they can find it...)

I'm hoping at least someone on here has been able to get the N key working so I don't feel like i've lost out on money...altho at least I can put it back on eBoo as someone with a Dub may well want it.

I've paired mine fine - it's the stupid blade I have had trouble with - the place where I got it cut, cut it wrong :(

Just got 2 more from Ebay to try again......

Sounds like I gotta put it back on eBoo & look for another one :(

Knew it was too good to be true...just my luck

Cheers for the info from everyone!!!

You could always just give it a go pairing the remote and see if it works before relisting it.

You just use your regular spare key in the door, and hold the flip key close to it, doing the relevant button presses. That way it fools the car into thinking it's one key, but saves you the hassle of changing the blade and transponder only to find that it doesn't work.

Only takes 2 minutes, and you never know - you might be lucky :D

Gave this a go, with no joy, so have relilsted it on eBoo...and just won another flip key, but this time it's the AG part number, that everyone else seems to have.

Just have to go thru the motions again with this one to check I can code it to the car.

Cheers for all the help everyone!!

Does this mean you can buy example this: http://http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-VOLKSWAGEN-MK5-GOLF-CADDY-REMOTE-FLIP-KEY-FOB_W0QQitemZ230127061027QQihZ013QQcategoryZ9889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and all you need to do is take the insert out of your normal key and put it into the flip key?

I'd want confirmation from the seller of the exact Part #, as it should have 1 or 2 letters after the 753 bit.

The other thing is that you can buy a 3 button remote, but you wont be able to use the Boot Release (middle button) as the Leon does not have this feature.

As for the insert - I'm assuming you mean the Transponder...this will solve the Immobeliser part (altho you have to be V.V.careful with the transponder as it's made of glass, and if shattered means getting hold of a new one, and a trip to the steallers to get it coded to your cars alarms system (as far as I'm aware there's no way around that...so be careful with it).

Then just code the central locking to the new key as per the details on here.
