But if you go somewhere like BAS, PTorque or any other company that can alter the maps then you can have the map tailored to suit the car, with no clutch slip.
If you just go for all out, massive, as much as possible power and torque then of course you'll have a
problem. And any tuner worth their weight will know that. But a good mapper will map the car according to it's limits, and the clutch is included in that.
Any tuner mapping cars beyond what they are capable of should be avoided, IMO.
Yes this is correct Rob, but the only thing i see wrong in that, even at standard level some clutchs are on the verge of going, so even a slight remap can destroy the clutch, and the
problem is, if your going to pay near £500 for a remap, yes we TDi's have to pay £200 more than you petrol heads, to get a "MILD" rempa to save the clutch, its £500 wasted when you cant use it.. and 2nd of all, all that "mild" power you want is great, till your on the motorway and go to over take in 6th gear and the extra boost slips the clutch... yes it will even with a slight upgrade in boost pressure in a remap.
So you choices... if you went with a mild remap, you always have to be in the right gear over 2k rpm and wont get all the power that the TDi can deliver.
Or buy a clutch, it can be remap to full capablities, you can put ur foot down at ANY REVS, and it will pick up and ease of mind when overtake in 6th gear isnt going to ruin your day.
as they say in game shows... "the choice is yours, and remember the cuddle toys is yours already"
Sorry i dont mean to be rude Rob and other petrol boys, but if you dont own a TDi, you wont know the problems that occur with hikes in power, suspension and etc will do do an engine heavier than yours and a power torque level that delivers in a very small band... not to say you say isnt right sometimes, just think sometimes, best to see a TDi verteren post up the TDI engine bits, e.g. like devonmikeyboy, utopia, triple D etc etc etc
