Went to the movies, parked the car, folded teh mirrors in using the switch.
Came out started the car, turned the switch and......................NOTHING.

What is going on! where is the fuse for this? i checked all the fuses on the side panel, they are all ok.

anyone shed any ideas on this. thanks

Could be the rotary switch, mine went a few months back

Got anyone you can swap it with to test. its dead easy.

The full panel with the window switches pops out without needing to remove the door card and then the rotary switch just clips into that with the plug on the other side.

Where are you based. If you're anywhere near me I can swap it over to test it if you like? If not i think mine was sub £20 from seat

Have you tried resetting the mirrors?

Ignition off, drivers door open.
Switch to open.
Open mirrors by hand - they will be quite stiff.
Close the door, and turn the ignition on.
Wait 30 seconds.
Switch to folded. Mirrors should close and make nasty crunching noises.
Wait 30 seconds.
Switch to open and the mirrors should unfold.

Half the intelligence is in the switch, and the other half in the mirrors - so you might need to replace one or the other.

Do you have to do all this while standing on one leg whilst holding the manual aloft in your free hand ?

All I've ever had to do to reset the Toledo mirrors is push them both out at the same time

They wind in ... and about 5 seconds later, fold out again

mirro

i tried this mate , it doesnt work, my mirrors are locked in the closed osition when i open them by hand they dont click into any position and you cannot feel the motor move, instead when you move them bac into the closed position by hand they click into the closed position.

its as if there is no power going to the mirros when the switch is turned. but the movement of the actuall glass does still work

is tehre a fuse for the folding mechanism??

Not that powers the folding mechanism alone.

Have you tried pushing both together (with the help of an assistant, obviously) beyond the normal out position ?

If you push them so the glass is pointing about 45deg out - basically the very furthest they will go, you might find the motors kick in

Not moved anything in the centre dash have you ? Cos there's a wire or plug or something that I disturbed when fitting a new headunit, and my mirrors and central locking went annoyingly intermittent for a couple of months before finally turning off all together.

Took the headunit out to test a changer last week and refitted it ... now everything works fine again :funk:

prise the window switch panel out and unclip the plugs then you can remove the mirror switch. just use a flat screwdriver to lift teh whole panel slowly so you can see the clips.

My mirrors stuck in , had to force them out . Disconnected the battery for 10 mins then tried them , worked fine since ( 3 weeks ago ) . A few guys on here have had the same prob and disconnecting the battery worked every time . Just make sure you`ve got ur radio code
