Does anyone know which front/slam panels fit the 2.0 16v cars with the twin fan radiator and aircon?? Would one from an 8v GTI fit?? Also if you know of anyone who has one or where I could get one from then that would be just SUPER [B)]

Many thanks

I need the largest one available which is the 628mmx320mm radiator sized one. And yes, I did have a bump. I was waiting to join a roundabout and woman in a megane was waiting in front of me. Nothing was coming so the woman started pulling out and so did I, while doing so I had a glance right to see if there were any more car coming (and there weren't), and before I even managed to look back in front of me.......BANG. Will never know why she decided to stop, but because i went into the back of her it was my fault. Anyways, her 05 reg megane..... 1 scratch around the numberplate. My GTI, I somehow managed to crumple my front panel, all the headlight brackets have snapped of and the rad was pushed back. And to add the icing on top of the cake............ it happened on my birthday

czecboy from what ive seen in the past the 1.4 1.6 etc all use the same panels its the rad mount spacing thats different and can be removed moved out a bit and spot welded back on. my old 1.4 had a 1.6 item fitted and had to have the rad mounts relocated but otherwise its the same bit of metal.

As soon as I get this new radiator on mine will need a new home which is identical to yours - even has the factory stickers on it

I'll take it off your hands. They are not actually that expensive I found. £77 delivered was a nice bargain I found earlier. Anyways, have just spent the last 2 days straight working on my car and it is now provisionally fixed, so I can drive it to watch the BTCC at Thruxton in the morning. Was a bit of a nightmare, as to take of the front panel, I had to take off the bumper. To take off the bumper I had to take off the grill. To take off the grill I had to take out the indicators. And to take out the indicators I had to take out the airbox. My back is in pain, my hands are cut and bruised up, my face covered in dirt.......but the car is FIXED!!!! Only problem I have is that the nearside headlight is still a little bit pushed in but apart from that the front end looks spot on.

I'll still get a new front panel tho, so that the headlights, grill and radiator line up exactly (I'm a perfectionist ;) ).

Anyhow, will post up some pictures later on, but now its time for a well deserved rest.

i've had the exact same thing happen, a woman started to go, so i crawled forward, looked to the right, and bang. she stopped! cost me 200 quid to repair as i hit her with the corner of my car, so the left wing was bent and the indicator light smashed! her car had no damge what so ever. although it was a 1.1 fiesta popular, so that would explain things as there made out of solid steel  happens to the best of us!

Sounds good to me Stu. Just let me know when you are selling it and I'll pick it up from you and give you some money to support your beer drinking habits
Any chance the front panel will come with those little black clips into which the headlights are screwed. The reason I'm asking is because every one I've tried to take off, snapped.

I'm fitting an all alloy radiator (WRC spec core and shorter in height) but I need to fabricate new mountings for it so I aquired another one (£35 ebay) so I could do the work on that one and not have the car off the road.

One on the car is sound as

Cool cool. I've got some photos of my car from this weekend. One was taken on while I was fixing the "damage". And the second pic is of my car at the BTCC this morning. As you can see, the front end looks almost spot on again.

Gutted!

I done exactly the same thing years ago and managed to cause quite a lot of damage. As I was slowing down from about 30ish, the golf in front had moved off, I looked to the right to see nothing was coming around the roundabout, looked infront and the driver of the golf had done an emergency stop for no reason, and I ploughed into the back of it at prob 20 ish, carnage.............

Although totally my fault, I felt a little pissed off as it really is one of those accidents thats soooo easily done.

Pleased that you've almost got it sorted.
