The number in NGK's description is the temperature rating of the plug, 6 being a hotter plug than 7. It is recommended if your car is running 50bhp more than standard to use a grade colder plug e.g. a 7 instead of a 6.
If you do a search you will see this has been mentioned before.
Ngk make PFR6Q's, PFR7Q's, BKR6IEX, and BKR7IEX. I think the PFRQ's are Platinum with 4 ground elctrodes and the BKREIX's are iridium, I have no idea which are better but the PFRQ's are the more expensive plug.

It's the same with other manufacturers Nippon Denso recommend IK20's for our cars and also IK22's can be used being a grade colder.
