'rocking' LCR front end....

There's no F in Quality..
Strange one this, noticed this morning that if i move the steering wheel from lock to lock, the front of the car 'rocks'....

i.e. turn the steering wheel to turn 'right', and the front right of the car 'lifts', and the front left 'drops'....

anyone else noticed this, or is there something wrong with mine ??? :confused:

Perfectly normal ;)

I'm struggling to put into words why it's happening - I can see the logic in my mind but I can't put it onto paper. I'm sure somebody will explain though.

Just had a thought....

When I had the NSF wheel bearing changed, and the dealer damaged the hub carrier and replaced it, would they have checked the wheel geometry when they put it back together ?!?!

i.e. have they cocked the camber up ??

Just had two new tyres fitted, so don't want to wear them down if the geometry is out....

No mention of getting the geometry checked when I picked it up from the dealer after the work had been done.....

I wouldn't have thought they would have checked the geometry, as that's normally a chargeable job. Might be a good idea to get it done though before it starts eating your tyres prematurely.

Normal, dont do it too often, you'll kill your tyres :cartman:

Depends on the garage. Some just want you in and out as quickly as possible so they can get onto the next job.

have been out and had another look at lunch with a guy from work....

drivers side doesn't move by more than a couple of mm, but the passengers side moves by about 10-12mm..... looking at the NSF wheel, it looks like it's more verticle than the OSF.

at least it's closer to 0' camber, than -2' !!!! shouldn't scrub the tyres out that much, but will get it checked tomorrow anyway.

It's down to the castor angle I think ..... or at least it has to be for this explanation to work :confused:
(that which makes the wheels straight when you let go of the steering wheel ... when you're moving)
