amp, sub + 6x9 help please

hey, hope you can help me

ive got a pair of JBL gto-936e 6x9 speakers which are running 600wMAX(300weach), 200wRMS. i want to run the 6x9's with a 12" sub.

im looking to get a sub which is 1000wMAX, 500wRMS. so im looking for an amp that has about 1600wMAX, 700wRMS right? ive found this one its 2400wMAX but its not that good so im thinking it should be ok for my 700wRMS that i need, right?

Confused with all the wattage stuff. Ill check what im running in mine lateer - got my sub and amp from my mates as a 21st so not quite sure the exact spec. I have Pioneer 6x9s and a 12" Pioneer sub and amp.
Not really an expert on the sounds side of things but it sounds good cranked up

What ive done is got my infinity 6x9's running off the head unit and got an amp running my pioneer subs. Sounds brilliant. Its plenty loud and lots of bass.
I found out the hard way that a cheap amp on ebay is probably crap. I bought a cheap one and it worked but sound wasn't that good. Spend abit more and get something decent. You wont regret it.

you do know ur 6x9s will warp the sound of your sub, the magnet from the
6x9s are pulling the pressure from the sub.
Technically you should only need good uprated front components/tweeters/amp and a good sub with surrounding box.

i wouldnt buy either of those to be fair...
if your on a budget, with audio stuff your best going second hand.

that amp will produce nothing like 700 wrms... not a chance in this world im affraid mate... i bought a second hand fusion power plant amp 500 wrms and that cost me 120 pounds, so you can see where its heading.

If i were you id go for branded stuff second hand, like the pioneers and the jl, fusion, jbl... all will provide a better sound.

Just my opinion obviously

and it sounds nice with Vibe 6x9's! (vibe make FLI)

My subs only cost £46 on ebay was well chuffed

the fli combo is very very good, my mate has one in his rover 200/25 which ever it is.
its powered by a jbl amp, but if fli recommend that amp it cant be bad.

If you could pick it up for your budget id go with something like that...

(peak power means absolutely nothin BTW)

(USED) JBL 6000 amp which is 1100w max not sure bout RMS but seems cool, should all be within budget (pray to god). my internet seems to disconnect so i might lose the auction grrr. but if i dont get that amp for now ill just get the subs and get the amp later.

and yes my wireless disconnected with 30seconds left and i got outbid, grr. i lost such a good deal. JBL gto 6000 amp for about £50. im just deciding on the active 12" or twin 10" with another amp now... (lol back to square 1)

I never liked the look of the Fli trap things, i had a Vibe CBR10 in the back of mine for a while until the girlfriend did that some damage with the shopping.

Replaced it with a 2nd hand CBR12 from ebay and I've never looked back (other than to wonder where my hearings gone)

Are the Fli boxes smaller? i recon you'd struggle to get the twin CBR's in the back of the ibiza

Everyone ive gone for the 12" active FLI, errm i dont know if its smaller will let you know when i get it hehe.

im gonna get a 200-250RMS amp for my 6x9s soon too.

looking for decent front comps, would i need an amp to run that off too? or just from head unit?

hey i got my Fli 12" active sub/amp up n running, im impressed with the results. i still havnt got my 6x9s in yet and im running the standard speakers with it and its pretty decent bass. the box looks nice too.
the only thing i would say about it is it doesnt have a grill so i gotta be careful. im not ina rush to add my 6x9s just yet, i might just go for uprated front speakers first.
