yes, and yes :)

the part number from my car was 6K0 121 253 AC
it's a non-aircon 8v and the radiator hosing is on the same side as the battery.

the p/no that ECP use is 203442040, to replace VAG 6K0121253AC.

Total (inc vat): 38.08

Worth noting the OEM is Valeo, while this one is Nissens. Seemed to be of just as good quality as the Valeo item that came out of the car though.

ive had a look at my rad and the pipes are on the passenger side of the rad and so is the electical sensor.
mine must be diff to urs?

looks that way mate. worth checking the part number on the side of your rad first though!

you can find it on the outside of the vertical plastic 'leg' that runs down the side of the radiator - on the driver's side of the car.
