Thought the heavy altea was going to get eaten alive by an 07 cooper s, so I thought I'd give it some just for laughs..

Anyway very light traffic along this section of road coming up to a roundabout and notice some xenons coming towards me at high speed, so on exiting the roundabout moving to the driving lane, we were even, in second I decide to give it a bit of footy, pulling away, then third and he still cant catch me, :D third dies  then into fourth fairly evens upto about a ton then he pulled away albiet gradually, we had loads of road so I kept the foot down and gave up after another few seconds, but holly smoke I was well impressed how well I was able to keep up with this cooper s, and how little distance he was able to put between us...if I was planning a remap I guess it would be fairly even.

great car. :funk:

If it makes you feel beeter there not the quoted 175bhp. most that have been rolling roaded are coming out at about 190bhp and one guy who took his to a roling road session was shocked to see 202 bhp. that will explain why they feel faster on most of the magazine tests.

a bit of change sompared to the supercharged versions, especially the modded works ones, BMW claimed these were 210bhp, but most rr at around 195, which has seen warranty claims, as the kits came with certificate to state their new power for insurance purposes.

PS the supercharged is a lot sweeter drive than the turbo model, and better handling too.

Although i remember when my mate had an Altead Tdi as a courtesy car and remember how well the back end will slide round on them, drift niocely on a large flowing roundabout
