Ha! Ha! , made you look! :p

My real reason for posting is somewhat duller than you had anticipated and i'm sure the number of views of this post will now be larger than it ultimately deserves .

Does it matter if you leave the Cruise Control switch on when you're not using it?

It makes no difference to how the car or the Cruise Control works or behaves but my brain is now worried that I should switch it off after a journey... but do I need to........?

(This is number 1 in a series of 101 frivilous questions about my Leon :wtf:)

And for wasting those people's time who are not interested in reading about your cruise control. :ban:

And for people who were interested in reading about your cruise control question but would never think to look under this heading. We could all post "Teasing Tara twists her tassels on Toledo" and get more views for our MAF problems! Scrapyard?

it was quite clever to post that heading,,,but not so concerning the question. No matter what the position of the switch is at,the computer see its shut,so its off.

Why bother having a switch in the first place then? In case you "accidentally" bang the end of the stalk (painful) and re-accelerate to 90??!!?! :-o

it's a kind of safety feature, or kind of an ease of use / limit customer complaints feature. obviously doesnt work with you lot. lol.

when you compare to other systems (vauxhall for instance), it's a lot easier to use as you have:

Cruise On/Off (green light / no green light)

Cruise Set (maybe this has another green light).

On the VAuxhall system (at least the one i have used in the Zafira), it's just a couple of buttons on the combi stalk (indicator), and no light on the display - just the feeling that the car is driving on cruise.

hope this helps. in summary, it's designed to make it easier to understand, and limit customer complaints (compared to systems which are difficult to understand).
