On a heavily modified car, that has everything else a touring car has so it looks like a touring car replica, then fine. On a semi-standard car, it would look like you've stuck a load of stickers on it.

I hate the association with burberry and fords. Attend an actual Ford-fan meet like the RS Owners Club and you'll see that 99.9% of those in attendance are mature, responsible car owners with a wealth of knowledge and a very friendly and helpful attitude.

I'm a long-time Ford fanatic but decided to move to the Cupras when I hit a brick-wall with my Fords. (Not literally, of course). I wanted a hot-hatch, preferably a turbo and it had to be recent. So that's the Focus RS and the Focus ST. Both more money and too-high in insurance for me. Which is a shame.

Fords around the globe have been associated with the twin-stripes for an age. Long before this plague of fake burberry (Burberry never made caps.. btw. 1911 English designer label.. destroyed wholey by market tack). And now, if I mention my fondness for the ease of maintenance and modification of the CVH engine, I'm branded a chav!? Madness :p

In closing: Stop branding all Ford fans as chavs.. it just doesn't wash.. and secondly.. Stripes on a Leon? Please... no :)

I don't think anybody on this thread branded Ford fans as chav... but they did brand big stripes down the side of a Leon as chav. Quite rightly, IMO :)

What about these graphics on my Leon, same look dark laquered look on a dark car...

Honeycomb to match that on the front grilles... Yeah or no? Very subtle i thought... so what people think?
I am too cautious on vinyls on cars, most look like shopping lists on a halfords or never match the lines of the car its stuck too...
This i thought was subtle... especially as i said, if done in a dark grey metallic vinyl on a black car...

P.S. sorry to hijack, but its to do with vinyls?!

Subtle vinyls on a car like yours slick can and probably will look superb, as you have the rest of the look to match them.

I just don't think they suit standard cars.

Hmm... stylized graphics, tastefully picked and kept in check with the cars lines, curves and for want of a better word, "feel" are no problem.. in my eyes.

I've seen a Leon with a honeycomb vinyl on a bit of the bonnet.. towards to front, passenger side edge near the lights. They were a 3D effect as if to make-out the paint had peeled back and the honeycomb grille had been applied to a section of the bonnet.

It was tasteful, in my eyes and was on a dark-blue Leon. The vinyls were grey and black. Very nice effect.

I like that GTi...

Im sure some well studied and well applied graphics could do the trick.

Maybe on the C pillar.. somewhere down there... and above the front wheel fender..

So its not just another "Door Painting"

I've just spent the last 10 mins goggling the hell out of every combination of "photoshop guides + cars + leon" and "photoshop + tutorial + "car vinyls" etc. trying to find the damn website. There was a link from a .co.uk tutorial page that took you to a site full of ca vinyls and bodykits for "inspiration". I found it last week while photoshopping different alloys onto my car.

If I locate it mate, I'll be sure to post. In fact, if I locate the tutorial site at all.. I'll post that as well. Superb for every kinda car alteration. Photoshopping lowering, rear-light conversions, body-kits, wheels and window tints, vinyls, decals and even front-end conversions etc. The bloke did them all in detail.

Even managed to whack an S2000 front end on a Focus.. it was done so proffessionally, it looked good :S

Watch this space...
