Fabia wiper arm part number

I picked up my set of parts for the mod today, and all the part numbers on the packets are correct, but the wiper arm itself has a different part number on it.

Part number on the packet is 6y6 955 707, number on the part itself is 6y6 955 704.

Any chance anyone of you who've done the mod could check the number on the arm for me please? If you lift up the arm the number is down at the nut end, on the side nearest the ground, upside down.

It looks like the swept area is going to be a good bit smaller than with the original arm too...

You're absolutely right! Your post got me wondering, so just popped out to check, and the arm itself says 704, but my invoice says 707! I never even noticed, but it fits fine anyway. The swept area seems much smaller, but you'll get used to it :)

The sweeped area is smaller, but not by a massive amount. The thing is, as the Fabia wiper works and wipes much better than the standard one, it is actually more effective overall :)

I've just fitted it, and the swept area is a lot smaller than I had thought it would be when I first read about the mod. I'd say the radius is an inch and a half to two inches less (judging by the ring of grime on my window) I was expecting a centimeter or so less... anyway, I'll see how I get on with it.
[edit] looking at the pics in pab's guide again, it's really obvious that the swept radius is a lot smaller... i'm just blind!

Yeah, but like RobM says, you'll actually be able to see out of the swept bit now, and won't have to endure that nasty scraping noise...
