can't have been - at Silverstone last year there was zero traffic management - hence they lost the BTCC this year

I'll check tomorrow - I know they have something to do with Rockingham, although it could just be the security side rather than the traffic side. You realise that the also do Donnington and Brands too!

The issue with traffic management, was the fact that Silverstone management tell the traffic management company how many people to expect and set the budget to how much they pay. Silverstone screwed up and ordered too little staff, hence they got the problems that were experienced (if that makes sense).

yup, makes sense totally

Must have been a shock to them that the championship finale, with record advanced ticket sales that ended a week beforehand would have been popular.

never mind, just seems daft that the circuit closest to a dual carriageway couldn't get people clear

Anyone been to the F1 at Silverstone? Its more than stupid. They built that road to accommodate for masses of cars in and out, yet they close it an send everybody through some small town road. Getting out of Silverstone is worse.. Its still closed, although they do send you along it for 400 yards the wrong way, so they can take you up the slip road again, and through more small country roads, very slowly to the next junction north or south of the normal M1 junction.. Most annoying!

We always stay down on the Sunday night and stagger back to the tent after the Post GP Party and a pub visit. A civilised way to finish a GP [B)]

I'm lucky enough to be local to that - and had to get to work on GP day once.
