Has anyone else noticed a rattle from the rear of there Leon, mine is currently bugging the cr@p out of me. It sounds as though its the rear passenger seat belt tensioner. I have been in the back, hit and tried moving things about, but no joy.

Please shed some light, otherwise i'll have to make a trip back to the dealer

Near Reevo :)
Spare wheel - either needs screwing down tighter or the tools under it need moving a bit (i believe!)

Pull both the rear seats forward. You'll see the retaining clips attached to the bodywork that the seats slot into. Wrap the metal clip (its a u shape) in insulation tape - give it 2 or 3 layers and put the seats back - you may have to slam them into place now - but it will solve any squeaks and the seats can still be lowered no problem.

I had a rattle at the rear of my Cupra the other day.. Didn't shut the boot properly though. :D

My rear wiper wasn't working once, and the cure was the same

Rob66, I'll give that ago when I get home.

TIA

Good luck with it, pretty sure thats the solution its been mentioned a few times on here and worked for me. I would do both sides as well.

The tape just reduces the space between clip and seatback and removes the rattle - -flipping annoying though.

Let us know if it works.

re rear wiper not working - -i did exactly the same thing:whistle:

All VAG's seem to rattle. Even the S3 has started to rattle now its got a few miles on it.

One from behind the stereo, and one from the boot where I swear they have taken the interior trim off the inside of the boot hatch to fit the number plate retainers as it doesn't fit that well to the metal of the boot lid. Drives me nuts but I'm trying to accept it as part of life.

Try the door catch, my passenger rear door started rattling on catch.

Temporary fixed with insulation tape round striker, since then dealer has tightened catch. It sounded like seat belt tapping or something knocking inside rear door.

I taped up the clips last night, but haven't been out and about yet, i'll find out later this afternoon on the weekly pilgrimage to Tesco. I'll post up and let you know.

Talking of strange noises.. Anyone opened both the rear windows and left the front windows up traveling about 40/50mph? Did this last weekend and not sure what it does exactly, but there is a loud bass noise at the rear.. Sounds like the boot is gonna come off! Try it..

Rob,

Well a combination of tape around the rear seat retaining clips and around the clips for the rear doors has cured the problem :funk:

Thank you for the advice
