Hi Guys,

I should be getting my cupra in the next month or so, and was wondering basically what the cupras are like with milage over 65k?
I've not seen many under that sort of milage, are they reliable still at 70k odd? Dont turbo's usually go around this point?

Thanks,

Andy

Had mine a few months now, had 69k on when i had it, had it remapped and now its done 72k. Runs spot on so far and not expecting any probs.
Providing the milage is resonable for the age of the car id say overall condition is more important. A well looked after 70k mile car is probably going to be a better car than a neglected/thrashed 45k mile car.

mine just ticked over 70k and is fine. I've seen golfs with these engines on 150k and still running strong, just make sure the cambelt and water pump are changed around 70k and oil changes every 5-6k and you'll be fine

there's no need to worry - ours is on 75k and still running perfectly

oil changes at 5k only if you skimp on oil, there's no need at all to do this.

Modern turbo's last a lot longer than 'old' ones, so don't worry about that either (hell, you can pick up replacements for £50 anyway)

i had mine revoed for a few years and the turbo still worked fine but when i upgraded there was shaft play, just goes to show that they don't brake as such just detearyate.
my car is only on 56k so can't realy coment on 70k + cars but just look at the paint work and all the othere car stuff.

purely depends on how it's been looked after. Best tell tell signs would be the condition of the interior / exterior just to give you an idea, obviously a fsh is the biggest factor and i wouldn't buy one without fsh!

Mine is at 65k and it was chipped at 25k then ko3s etc around 40k. It's been down the 1/4 mile hundreds of times and still has original clutch etc.
