Boost logs for TDIs

I have done some boost logs recently for my remapped cupra. For those experts out there should actual boost always be above spec. My actual is above spec up till 3K where it starts to fall below spec.

Thanks

Ideally, it should be spot on as far as I know. Even though it's mapped, that merely means more is being requested. I'm getting mega differences with mine at the moment as I'm running a massive turbo now with my old map, so I'm getting regular limp mode sessions due to "boost, negative deviation" - i.e it's requesting X and getting something well away from X (probably why I'm seeing 2.5 bar on the boost gauge quite a lot.....)

It it all looks ok?

I think so, but I'm not much of an expert - How's the car performing? If the car is still running the standard turbo, I wouldn't have thought pushing 2 bar would be much good. You really don't want to be pushing more than is being requested - given the log you posted.

I'll copy/paste it on to TDIclub and see what they say. :)

Someone over there did a graph for you. Kind of illustrates much better what I was trying to say. That spike is not all that good in the long run

Forgot, they also added that it's not just the spike, it's also the low dip below the specified in lower revs. However, I don't like any map that is requesting over 1 bar of boost at just 1500rpn. Really you should not start seeing 1 bar+ until you're much closer to 2000rpm. This kind of "lull" in boost from 1500 to 1900rpm until it crosses, might explain why the boost is higher than specified from 2000 onwards.

I'm only guessing really but I believe the specified boost should follow more like what your actual boost is, but without the spike - it should level off gently to 1.6 bar for the remainder of the rev range.

The map has been checked out and is fine. I think I may have a boost leak! Its a pd160 for the record!
