Test drove, liked, got good deal, delivery June / July.

1.9TDI Stylance with sunroof, 17" alloys, convenience pack, armrest and oval exhaust trim in emocion red.

As per my previous post, already drove a Golf. I cant believe having driven both cars that any sane person would choose a Golf over a Leon.

The 1.9tdi engine in the Golf is far noisier and far rougher. The driving postion is inferior in the golf, you get less kit but pay substantially more, the styling is mundane (my opinion) and it just doesnt feel as individual.

I have to say I was impressed with the Leon, the only thing I noticed was a fair amount of road noise on rough sufaces. If this becomes an issue then I will look at getting some dynamat. Even £250 invested in doing that still makes it great value.

I will be adding an aftermarket satnav with bluetooth so decided against the bluetooth option.

I am pondering the satnav docking station but have noticed that Halfrauds do an 'integrated' installation that hides all the wires, doesnt use the 12 volt supply and does not involve drilling holes in the car. Anyone had this done by them? Cant decide the best way to go with it at present.

YOU DO REALISE YOU GET THE SMALLER TRIP COMPUTER DISPLAY WITH NO BLUETOOTH OPTION?

Sorry, had to make it clear :)

Interested to hear you say the 1.9tdi is louder in the Golf than the Leon, what bhp is the one you drove as tbh I tended to find that the 1.9tdi is the quieter engine of the two (1.9 or 2.0) but in an Audi A3 it was very noisey and I didn't test drive the Leon in the 1.9TDi (wish I had now:shrug: ) Although the 2.0tdi I have is very, very quick;)

Got to be honest, didn't think about the display!

And there was me thinking I'd thought every detail through lol.

I'll sleep on it tonight and if I change my mind I'll phone the dealer and add it on. I'm sure they'll be OK about it.

So, presuming I dont really need the blue tooth function, are you all saying that the extra display alone is worth the money? The one I drove didnt have the larger screen so I havent seen one in the flesh. The brochure doesnt really show the differences in detail either.

Something that may interest anyone local to Portsmouth area, I got talking to a guy who was buying his third Seat from Snows and asked him what the customer service was like. He said he would recommend them to anyone so that bodes well.

I was obviously intoxicated by the quality of the rest of the car (and the rather nice sales womans smile)
