15-16k, mostly traveling a few miles very slowly in london... :(

A "Gas guzzler" may spur me on to take the ride the bike in, and keep the car for weekends, and trips away.

Need to have a test drive of one 1st, to see if I even like it.

How come you drive to london? I find it easier and cheaper to take the trains and tube.

If you might start takin the bike into work though I think you should test drive a evo also :funk:

Work south of the river, and do alot of late hours and on call so prefer the convinience of the car.

Old S3's aint all that by all accounts, and would be slower than mine until remapped, and there wouldn't be alot in it even then.

If I got a 1.8t it would have to have a BT, but its an extra expense ontop of the purchase... getting an Evo or Subaru avoids this.

Evo service intervals put me off a little, and yes i prefer them miles to the Subaru

older car... more things to replace... not as reliable as a newer car.

It needs to be 100% reliable.

maye you should enquire if there are any evo specialists round the area as they would be much cheaper than the stealers!

*offtopic* You say your on call you in the maintenance trade?

I think they need special servicing for the diff or something along those lines. Servicing costs are mad, but I think mitsubishi made the Evo 9 GT to address that. Supposedly it needs less servicing than the rest of the range, so ive heard.

I work within the NHS, not in matainance. So need a 100% reliable car as a result.

I'll have a look if there's any Evo specialists but I think the extra servicing would put me off (every 6000 miles Ive heard ).

Im erring towards a white STI at the moment, and I'll make it look like a Spec C one (remove the huuuuge spoiler), debadge it, and put some big porsche brakes on it.

well you definetly cant go wrong with that performance wise. Whats your insurance gonna be like on the STI?

Not sure... but i live in a good area, and my cupra is only £480 at the moment :D .

Probably around £900-£1000 at a guess  Might phone Greenlight and see what they reckon.

Need to check four things 1st...

1) Do I like driving it?
2) Can I really afford it?
3) Does the Bird like it?
4) Whats the insurance like.

Will have a few testdrives this weekend.
