Hi People,

I was fumbling around in my boot the other day and spotted this expanding foam peeping out of the plastic trim just below my boot catch. On further inspection it looks like that whole area benath the catch is filled with the stuff.

Now, when I bought the car back in November, I swear that was not there and am wondering if the stealer had done it when it went in for a couple of warranty jobs. Why would they have done it?, well I do remember booking it in with the stealers for a rattle that was coming from the boot, was the expanding foam used as a fix or something?? Looks like alot of it was used, anyone else had this done or is this normal or what??

lol - what plonkers !!!!!!

It shouldn't be used to fix rattles - it wont cause any problems though unless it's seeped into area's it shouldn't go.......

As Chris says, it shouldn't cause problems. The only concern would be if they have sealed in something you later need to get to.

Bit of a botch job way of 'fixing' the problem though!
