Fitting Silertec Bulbs

Hey, i was bored at home so i thought i would challenge myself. bought silvertec bulbs and had a struggle to get them into the TDI. as you may know that thier bit of a pain to get in!

The battery side was very easy. remove the battery cover, then unclip the second cover - putting that to the side. squeeze your hand into the gap between the battery and the front wing. passenger side done!

Now the drivers is a bit of a biatch! no space at all. ive got no tricks for you on this side. its just patience (however you spell it). but finally fitted! im happy now and i can go back to revision!

didnt have enough change to buy the other bulbs...for now just the indicators - glowing a boring orange! but will push on for some new dipped beams when i have time!

How much were they and what type do I need?

£14.99 and its the BU518S - or more commonly the PY21W. basically its the bulb with the slight ofset, one at 12oclock and one at 5oclock!

yeah, getting golf sidelights today hopefully! expect a few cuts when fiting them! i got a couple!

good mod il do it myself soon, got two dets of chrome bulbs from my fiesta but they the wrong offset! annoying!!when you say golf side lights do you mean side repeartors or just the small headlamps lights?

the side repeaters...been bugging me for ages! i actully went and took them off to see how easy it would be....fingers are very sore now! i suggest a credit card when doing it!

i put a post up not long ago about these as they have the stupid orange bit it the lens, i was goin to get some clear/chrome ones off rashcupra but i now am after some smoked ones as i want to tintt my rear lights too.
a few people said mk 4 golf ones fit but then someone else said they didnt?!
do you have any ideas?

well once my bro gets back from work i will check on his golf...it might depend on the year too tho! but then again its not hard to chop two wires and fit them back together!

yes i think someone with a 2006 ibiza said mk 4 golf side repeators fit but someone with 2004 ibiza said they didnt fit. what you mean about chopping wires i just use a screwdriver to pop the side repeators out and you can pull the bulb away from it

nope golf side repeaters dont fit! but, i will cut the wires and solder them together when i can!

05 ibiza and a 03 golf......i donno....i will go down to the vw garage tomm and fit them myslef with my trusty crimper tool and stripper!

good luck il continue my search i think somone on here said they had polo ones on their ibiza i might see if i can find someone with a polo and see if they fit!

just bought some chrome bulbs from ebay £3.24, the ones sitting in the garage i had on my old car were £7!!

would these indicator bulbs work on the single headlamp? ie are they the same
