Ok i keep getting the engine management light on. Really starting to bug me now, so i thought i would see if anyone could suggest why its on, and what i can do to fix it....
Brief senario.....I have APR ST2, full blueflame system, on a 52 LCR. I clear it with VAG COM, and it can be 2 days before it throws the light again, it mostly does it on idle, or at slow speeds, ie 4th gear 30MPH. I had no problems, but as soon as i filled up with tesco 99 i had the light on withing 3 mins, this was a mixed tank of V Power and Tesco 99 at 50/50 mix. The car is fine to drive, does not seem down on power, but occasionally, and it may be me imagining it, when on boost lightly say 5-7psi it may seem a little stuttery but nothing really noticable. Now i thought APR maps, had codes to keep the Lambda's happy, or am i wrong? And am i right in assuming (after searching) that B1 S1 is pre cat on the DP??

The fault codes.

2 Faults Found:
16514 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Malfunction in Circuit
P0130 - 35-00 - -
17511 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating: B1 S1: Performance too Low
P1103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

so what should i do? And what do the fault codes mean, I know J@mes has said about gapping the lambda, but im sure APR dont have this issue, Is it fried? could it have been some crap fuel, or just wear and tear..Any thoughts much appreciated.

Matt

i know on my map Matt the sensor is coded out and James has gapped his one, have you asked the people who mapped it as it might need adjusting for the new cat

As i said Gaz, im sure APR map them not to be a problem, its a generic ST2 map, and you need to have a full exhaust and induction to have it, so what would be the point in them doing a generic map, with these two mods being the main features and not allowing for them in the coding, it would seem silly to me, as everyone they produced would put the EML on and everyone would be coming back with this problem.

yeah i could ask them, but i think you tend to get more genuine answers on here. Will see what people can make of this 1st, and go from there. Cheers Gaz.

well for anyone who is interested..i think iv found the problem.

The lambda sensor is f**kin loose. i can twist it with my fingers, its that bad. Will be straight back to the exhaust centre who fitted it in the morning and hopefully that will sort my little problem out..(fingers crossed)

Good luck but usually that fault means the heating element has broken inside the probe and usually needs to be replaced.

Are you not confusing pre and post cat lambda's
B1S1 primary one.

Im confused bill, so are you saying the lambda that is failing is the one in the cat? or the one on the downpipe? I thought B1S1 was the downpipe one.
