Just had our 2.0 TDi sport Revo'd

I have had 2 seats in the past both have been Revo'd so this one was no exception...

Heres the story of events.

We (me and the missus) went out this weekend and had a look at a used Tdi FR with the Aero kit. We always fancied the 170bhp FR to compaire with our little old 140bhp.

After the normal sales patter that they give you, Which we really need to get through just to get the test drive and I have to say I was not impressed with the gains of the FR over the Sport.

The problem we had was not only was the spec less than the one we had but they wanted 8k cost of change :wtf: the sales woman was a little cutiey  [B)] , but not 8k's worth.. :D :p

Then backup plan then came into play, to remap (REVO) the TDi140 Leon Sport after all it is only 11 months old and 17k miles on her. (thats the car not the misses.:bleh: )

So we took at trip to Big Boyz Toys (sounds well dodgy if you don't know the nature of the company lol), after 1 hour the update was compeleted, no idea why it was going so slow but it made me miss the match

Anyway, after a few test runs I can honestly say, :-o What a car! I love it, the 5th gear was the biggest let down but as for the rest it goes like a rocket.

Ok the car was over power and Torque before it was rempped but I would love to see what its done to the car now.

It's going to be Dyno'd next week to see what gains we have made, watch this space.

Ronnie.

PS . Excellent service again from Big Boyz Toys.

how does the revo'd sport compare to the standard FR?

from other 140's that have been mapped you should be looking @ 185bhp, where as the FR is 170 standard, only Rica have mapped them so far and nobody i think has had a dyno run, the 140's dont have the dreaded DPF[:@]

The revo'd 140 is quicker than the 170 not sure that applies to everycar, is just the one we test drove was a typical example.

The revo was on trail anyway so we had nothing to lose in trying.

IF the FR was faster than the 140 I still would not pay out '000 as cost of change.

Whats the DPF?

How much did you pay for your Revo?

I am looking into having my 2.0 TDI sport done. Can you also let me know what it has done to your MPG on a tank?

What does it do to your warranty ? I thinking about having it done but worry if anything goes wrong down the line the dealer will say that the upped power caused the problem.

The dealers wont be able to see any difference until they drive it, and if they test drive it that hard then they need shooting.

But it could potentially void the warranty if detected is what you are saying. You could use the same argument about not telling the insurance company aswell.
I think I'll give it a miss.

HI,

Well this has all take a turn for the worst, we decided that the car was not much better with the chip so we have asked for the money back.

Now Bigboystoys are FANTASTIC! they not only gave us the full refund, but they did check the car for Fault codes, took the car out and discovered that something isnt right with the code on our car.. :(

Anyway the car has had to go to SEAT yesterday for a leaking Door that they cliam isn't leeking even though we took it there with a wet foot well. This is the second time they have dismissed this claim.

The other was the wheel bearing type noise that we have on the rear, Its due to miss shappen tyres. They tell me one minute, that they will make the claim with seat, Next thing I know they are telling me that I have to compain to bridgestone myself? - They are the ones that told me that they can make the claim.

So with that and the problems with the service work they did like not filling the car correctly with oil, We have sold the car and traded it in for a 170tdi s line Audi, Which works out the same price as a new FR ! ...

Sorry to bow out on a bad not with the car, but its still honestly one of the best cars in its class imo.
