Performance Torque Remap

Righto.

After giving the car another little test on the way home yesterday I'm finally going to give a little report on the remap.

Some people may of noticed my questions about the flat spot at 3 to 3.5k. After testing it again yesterday I didn't really notice it. I'm not sure what was going on there really. Maybe the MAF is dirty or the car was getting used to the map. Either way, it's not present now, but I shall be keeping watch for it!

So onto biz. P-torque. It was a 2 hour+ drive to performance torque in wolverhampton, and in my opinion entirely worth it.

Will over there was extremely helpful, and got me out of a jam by fitting me in at an awkward time, which would otherwise of prevented me from getting it done for a month or so.

I got to watch an entertaining clarkson DVD while the car was being done. Got a free diag check (no problems), the remap (LCR) and forge 007 fitted in under an hour. After that was done, we took it for a quick blat down the road to make sure I was happy (and it certainly helps that the estate he's on has half mile completely straight and quiet stretch of road!). After that, I handed over the 395 notes and drove off happy!

The car pulls nicely from 2k and like a train from 2.5. If I hold the throttle down (which i'll admit I haven't needed to do much!) it'll pull smoothly all the way past 6k without any noticeable drop in power.

Now, from what I've seen on this forum of rolling road results of p-torque maps they always come up highly, and have never seen a bad result. So it begs the question, why go for more generic and expensive map , which is almost 600 and that's not including the 007!

I'd go to the bell auto's and P-torques of this world every time!

If this thread is better placed somewhere else, someone feel free to move it!

I have not unfortunately! I'm expecting it's not the 267 quoted but I'm hoping it's around the 260 mark.

If there's rolling road shenanigans happening sometime soon near me I might have to have a look!

Sounds good mate......................:D

I think some people like the added functionality of being able to switch the map off (like CC & REVO), which is why they go for the other maps.

I agree PTorque seem to be springing up everywhere with good results, they seem to be similar (by peoples descriptions) to what the CC drives like, which is always a good thing!

Yeah. I'm pleased. I was never going to stump up the extra for the switchable. Why would I want to turn it off :D

Fuel is pretty much unchanged, unless I hoof it then it drinks like a shitter. But if you fancy a slow drive, it doesn't go nuts until about 2.5k anyway!

TBF I can't really imagine much of big difference between any of the maps, it's just who's convenient and meets the right price point for you. But on my experience I'd recommend them, or indeed any respected independent tuner.

Convenience and trusting your local dealer are two big considerations when choosing a remap. For me, BAS and PTorque are too far away to justify. I was thinking of Revo, as JKM are Revo dealers, but CC is now looking the favourite due to what I've read about the way their maps drive.

But I have to be honest and say if I was closer to PTorque or BAS, I'd probably be heading for them!

P torque maps give a higher power and 0.6 quicker! and the pulls is wicked! i though 1st the map wont be effective as the car wont hit high psi! with the remap done. The car from 0.6 now hits well over 1.1 (or more).
It shows how much differnt it makes!
The my dv failed after few weeks after remap! shows how much pressure it can take. (upgraded dv to metal piston version of forge).

6 gear on the motor way! you dont have to drop a gear to overtake!. jus press of the gas and car lifts up and go's!

Well I'm a spanner - spanner, cars...geddit! (well screw you then! :( ) when it comes to cars, so it'd probably be another 50 for fitting!

But would be quite handy.
