This is what my Ibiza looked like after the accident, some drunk guy in his Nissan Pick-Up with a bull bar on the front went right into the back of me when I was waiting at some traffic lights. And for the icing on the cake, it was on my B-day !!!

the front looks fine, but the back...

The worse thing of all, the cop said to me that he could tell by the other guys breath that he had been drinking so logically i asked if he was going to breathalyse him but do u know what this cop replied to me
" Well normally we would do sir, but there is a big police control the other side of town and they hav taken all the breathalisers with them, including our's. "
If you would seen my reaction, i went crazy, I heard later on that they didn't even take the guy to the station, they just let him off.
Anyway his insurance is paying out luckily.
Now you all have a fantastic idea of our perfect Belgian Police Force lol

I would complain about the police, in the uk (iirc) they breatalise then follow that up with a blood test at the station.

If they could tell from his breath they should have took him in anyway.

not strictly true. the police don't need to do the roadside breath test to take you to the police station. if an officer stops you and smells intoxicating liquor on you then you can be arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit. once at the station you'll be placed on a home office approved machine that will tell the police exactly how much alcohol is in your system, this is done twice by blowing into a tube and the lowest reading is the one used as evidence. the legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath but you're given the benefit of the doubt upto 39 microgrammes (in bedfordshire at least) between 40 and 50 microgrammes you're given the option of accepting the result or going to blood/urine which is then sent off to be analysed and 51 microgrammes or over then it is a straight charge for drink driving.................... say goodbye to your driving licence!

I've got some good news, the other guys insurance accepted to pay for the damages which surprised me seing that the car is 2002.
The estimate of repair by the insurer is 3500,40 euros, just about 2400 pounds !!!
I honestly tought that they would just give me money of the value of the car before the accident.

you cant really do much about it if you are stopped at traffic lights! ive only ever been hit twice (touch wood), and i was was stopped at t'lights for both. The first one, the guy said sorry as he was in a courtesy car which was a manual and he was used to an automatic! I pointed out to him that the f*****g brake pedal is in the same place though!
