Im arranging to go for the car today, mudflaps were not part of the deal, and the dealer wants £100 to put them on, are they worth it? :banned:  :headhurt:

Alternatively they are £60 and I can fit them myself..

Anyone got any pictures with them and with out?

Thanks

Personally I think they look fine. Definitely something that I will be adding in the future - sure I saw a thread before about mud flaps on an FR and it was decided that they were pretty easy to fit yourself. If they're going to be on the car when you pick it up though I might be tempted to pay the extra £40...

Sorry, I should have done a search, thanks guys.. Looks so much better with them on, plus they will save the paint a bit..

Ill try get the dealer to fit them and Ill pay for the cost of the flaps, otherwise Ill fit them myself..

In my LeonFR 2.0 TDI
defo get flaps, i think it finishes it off nicelly, plus i think it should be made law for vehicles to have them compulsory, far to many 4x4's and lorries without them throwing stones up to chip my windscreen

I learned my lesson the hard way - washed the car the other week (first time in a while) and saw red flecks of paint all the way along the side of the car. [:@] Colour was similar to the red the councils use to paint speed humps etc.

Have the flaps fitted now, took about 30 minutes all in to fit them and hopefully will stop things like this happening again.

Definately go for them improve the looks IMO and save the paint work :)

Try am get them for free, mine were part of the deal, and i'll insist on the same for the Cupra.

Up on the north coast.. at uni at queens, taking a years placement in coleraine now..

Am on Placement too, at UUJ. I need Mudflaps for the Toledo, have saw 'universal' ones for vag range in a local motor factors so might see if they fit and what they are like, bound to be way cheaper than the Dealer.

Umm the full link didnt copy there.. :p

I rang up again, the flaps fitted are £110, and he wont budge on the price.. Told him to shove it, going to put them on myself. Sure they arn't hard? Do they sit in a predefined spot/groove? And just drill then?

The instructions that came in the box with the flaps are fairly clear - you remove 3 screws and line up the flaps and screw them on. Front ones have a clip near the top that is used to secure the top part. To remove the existing screws you'll need a T25 torx screwdriver, to fit the flaps need a standard cross-head screwdriver.

Might find it easier on the rears to take the wheels off to fit, I didn't but will check that the screws are still tight after a while.
