Good Start, well 50% good. Plato wins race one, controlled the race from the start with a great job getting off the line as Turkington's BMW seemed to bog down. A couple of safety car incidents didn't phase Plato, and he controlled the restarts to hold off the very fast BMW's of Turkington and Mat Jackson (who was brilliant in his first ever BTCC race).

Bad luck for Darren Turner, who retired after being bashed from pillar to post at Druids. The car seemed to be strugggling for straight line speed and certainly DT was struggling with the car which must of had some problem.

Great start for SEAT though. 1st Race 1st Win [B)]

Roll on race 2.

Mat Jackson excluded from the results, due to technical infringement, ignored black and orange flag. Such a shame cause he had an excellent race.

results above amended. Mat Jackson goes to the back of the grid for Race 2, everyone else moves forward a place.

Race Two - Results

Another easy race win for Plato, made a cracking start again and never looked back as Turkington got hassled by Chilton and Neal.

Darren had a great race coming all the way from the pack at the back, kept it clean and avoided the melee to finish 4th. :)

Mad race with Onslow-Cole punting everything in sight almost at one point, Shedden made his own way round Clearways by avoiding it entirely and taking to the grass. :cartman:

Fantastic day for Jase thus far with his two wins where we can add 1 extra point for Race 1 fastest lap.

As a matter of interest regarding the point for fastes lap, I see where it says Fastest Lap under Not Classified in the Race Classification it has two achievers of a fast lap. For Race 1 it was Plato and Turkington and for Race 2 it was Turkington and Turner.

Who gets the extra 1pt? For instance does Jason get the point for Race 1 because his 49.706 beats Turkington's 49.790?

According to the regulations.

One bonus point is awarded to the driver setting the fastest lap time in each race (if two or more drivers achieve this then each earns the bonus point).

One bonus point is awarded to each driver who leads a race across the start/finish line at any stage (this is only awarded once per driver per race).

Plato currently has 33 points going into race 3. 15 points for each win, 2 points for leading both races and 1 point for a fastest lap.

Excellent work as always Mark. I'm sat in the lounge with a shandy watching it now as just got in from shopping. Car washing after it's finished.

Race 3 has ended and I have just finished logging the results info into my computers documents.

And all I can say is I hold my hand up. Although Matt Jackson was the star of the field for his efforts in a very good and proven car and so fully deserved a third and one of the two fast laps (49.789), perhaps TD and Neal deserved the win. The Civic did look very fast and competitive. But I think overall SEAT proved that they are still likely to be the the team to beat.

If I am right today Jase gets 30pts for the two wins in Races 1 and 2. Add to them 1pt for a Race 1 Fast Lap and 1pt for his Race 2 pole and we have just from JP 32pts. And if again I am right, then we have for Darren Turner 16pts for his two 4th's in Race 2 and 3 and two points (two Fast Laps).

Well done guys.

Great start to the championship, guess the ballast did kinda hurt Jase in race 3 tho.

To be expected really, best to look after the car and finish in the points. Strong first race weekend for SEAT, just what they were after. Just a shame Darren had a mare of a first race, otherwise we'd be ahead of VX by a nice margin in the Manufacturers, but its early days and they don't have much of a lead.

Turkington going off at Clearways helps Plato enormously, just hope they don't hit Darren with a penalty.

Didn't look like he nerfed him to me, but i know what happens in the paddock someone moans then it all leads on!! We'll have to see.
