We had a look today at fitting the TIP on my mk3 cupra but we couldnt see what went into the pipe with the metal bit at the bottom of the TIP. Any ideas?

thats the bit....you will need to link it up to your existing pipework though, unless you are doing alot of tidying in your engine bay and getting rid of bits and pieces like phil.

naaa engine bay is standard apart from forge DV and piper cross filter...

I mean the bit of metal pipe that sticks out at the bottom. Mine doesnt have a blanking bit on it. Example below

I dont understand why your even asking this, if you fit it you'll see what its for.

I only said mines blanked off coz i dont have either secondary air system or evap system.

Stop talking about it and get it fitted!!!! lol. :p

Because my mate and his mechanic mate had a look at the garage yesterday and couldnt see anything to plug into that metal pipe so he didnt fit it and asked me to get advice

My advice would be take it to someone with a clue.

On the existing TIP, there's a metal nipple thing that looks exactly like it - so surely just remove the old TIP, and refit the new with this hose?

He knows what hes doing because he fitted my mates TIP on his leon. All he was worried about was this metal pipe because he couldnt see where it went to before stripping the old one out and then find out it may be the wrong part or something lol

Yes, how silly of him to ask advice on a forum if he wasn't sure.

We obviously need to go to specsavers. Your sarcasm in every post is pretty tedious, can one suggest changing the record?

Can I suggest you let me speak on the forum I manage? If you don't like it - log out & f*ck off.

He's not asking - unless he's got a split personality - the mechanic is asking for 'advice'

it's exactly the same as the leon, so if he's done a leon - then he would know

It's not rocket science to fit, and is immediately obvious how it all goes together

To continue this... you claim I'm sarcastic - I wasn't - this was a clear instruction, or advice regarding taking it to someone with a clue.

Maybe you could make a sticky at the top of your forum telling all the users to stop making stupid posts and to just get a fcuking clue?

Would cut down on all these nobbers asking advice all the time

p.s the leon one isn't the same.
