petrol, petrol, petrol. They are quick some of these new diesel's but that noise and all that gear changeing a'nt for me, and can you still get girlfriends when you own a diesel (runs and hides, never to retern)

Simple way to decide is......
Drive lots for work ect get diesel
Dont drive 2 much...get petrol
easy!!!

I think you should have a long term Gf before you buy a Derv... I know I did, and she stuck with me an loves the soot machine now.
I love it to death, and dont think I could change it for the world.... but i still leave it in gear till the last moment, and coast past other nice cars with their windows open... so they cant tell its a Derv

This time 2moro my cupra will have the full milltek on and already has cc1. Its getting rrd at JBS aswell. I am looking for 200-210. That should give some cupra petrol boys a run for there money!
If you want to drive at a track, the petrol will eat the diesel - if your doing lots of road driving - the diesel will be good!

Heres some measured data from petrol cupra, diesel cupra and also FR versions. As you can see, the petrol cupra is clearly the fastest car of the bunch.
Even the petrol FR version spanks the diesel Cupra in standing start acceleration. FR has noticyably less horsepower the diesel Cupra, but its still ahead after 1km sprint. That is a bit suprising as diesel has a better power to weight ratio.

Disagree strongly there mate! Its a common mistake for petrol guys to make
Check out my video in my sig! Depends on the track mate... places like snetterton are no good for Diesels, but The Indy Circuit at Brands is perfect.
None of the links work for me... and Ive found a standard Ibiza Cupra TDI to do sub 7 secong 0-62's. Even I did that an im crap at the quarter mile!

I would have to say that the petrol would have the obvious advantage in a side by side race, however on the motorway the diesel always has the huge shove of torque ready for acceleration.
you have to wash diesels more because of the black crap that comes from the exhaust, they sound like a tractor and you have to change gear alot.
