My lease company said that date on a Red one I have on order and that was ordered 16/02 !!! :(

Well, I got the impression that it was more of a guess on the lease co.'s part. Or maybe there's more demand for the red and that's why you have to wait longer:confused:

Hey Stu,

Only went for the ipod and 18's, also the Supagard, so not too many options. I should find out more details about my build date today, the guy who knows anything at that dealership has been on holiday since the day I placed my order and no-one else seems to be able to help me. Its been torture.

I am sure I will still have to wait until sometime in May anyway but its still nice to be kept in the loop as to whats happening with the car.

Its a pity you cant be given an order number for any car you order and then be able to check the build/delivery status online whenever you want (like a package delivery service)., that would be amazing wouldnt it :D and also will never happen I am sure.

Eventually got to speak to dealer re: my White FR.

He confirmed order was placed and that build was started this week, ie week 13. He wasnt any more specific than that. Also mentioned delivery might be middle of May sometime.

How long does it take to build a car anyway?

It's not the actual building that takes time. It's the delay before the sales guy actually places the order, waiting for a build slot, transport to docks, loading onto ship, ship journey, unloading from ship, delivery to dealer and PDI that takes time. At least you'll appreciate it more when it does eventually turn up!

You are right, I am just glad the order has been confirmed. It will be hard but I will try and not to think about it until the start of May, when delivery date will be much closer.

Do you think I will be able not to think about the car, I doubt it :)? At least I have my Smart 44 Brabus to play with, what a fast car, am going to miss those lovely heated leather seats, oh well.

At least my girlfriend will enjoy it, she cant wait to get her hands on it, but only once I get the FR

Stupid newbie at the dealer mis-informed me about the build date for my car. Turns out the order was only confirmed at the factory this week, not the build starting this week as I was told. The build will now be in about 4 weeks time and getting the car end of May sometime. [:@]

Guess I need think about something else than cars for the next 6 weeks or so or I wont be able to get any sleep.

Oh well

Hey Stu, great for you, sounds like our cars are going to be built around the same time, but I am not going to think about it too much if I can help it but i am not a very patient person, I hate waiting.

Well on my survey only 4 have chosen the white, its a pity the poll cant let you put your postode on so you can see where in the country other CW owners are situated :).

We should have a get together of White Cupra and FR owners, that would be weird wouldnt it?

Hi Seadragon! My dealer said unusually for them that they had a clause from Seat UK that if we pulled out of the deal (as if!!!) the dealer will have to buy it off Seat because they said its such an unusual colour for the car! Great for us... makes it a bit rarer.

When I get mine its going straight off to have all the front done in anti-stone chip film which as I totally recommend as had it fitted already to my current Ibiza Cupra.

Hey Stu, sounds like a good idea, how much does this stone-hip stuff cost anyway?

I am surprised that the dealers have to buy the car if we pull out but I have a feleing the colour is going to catch on with other Seat buyers, so I am sure we wont be unique for long, which is a pity. Do you know if any white FR's or Cupra's have been produced already, I know the colour hasnt been available for long?

Has anyone actually seen a Candy White one for real, as I ordered mine before I even saw a pic of one. I saw the colour when I happened to get on the SEAT 'spec your Seat' section and I knew I had to have it. I saw a GTI in white and it looked amazing.

I am getting the Supagard done but the Stonechip stuff might be a good idea. I kinda blew my budget already and also am getting the GAP Insurance, done anyone know where I can get it cheaper than Seat is going to charge me, ie, £299 for 3 years?

You could try these out mate, they sell Gap Insurance.

http://www.car-finance.net/

I am having the Gap insurance from my dealer, he said it's value is £349 for 3yrs cover, but it is defered for 1 yr (as if it went missing or was written off, my insurance would replace it) so, it's like getting 4yrs of Gap Cover.

Great thanks for that. Someone told me a few days ago that I was getting ripped off for paying £299 so I just want to see what else it out there. I think he mentioned Norwich Union was well-priced but I couldnt find anything, guess I was looking in the wrong place on the site.

Thanks for the info :).

Where's my Candy?? I cant wait for mine, its torture
