Ye definatly get that looked at mate ! If you have had a belt fitted it int too bad, you just have to get it refitted and the timing sorted ! Otherwise it sounds like the timing has jumped ! Possibly down to a dodgy tensioner ? or water pump pully ? either way there's nothing stopping it from jumping again !

I've got this fault code now, slightly different....

17748 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incor. Correlation
P1340 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Had the cambelt and roller replaced last week and i'm thinking it hasnt been timed properly or could it be something else?

I cleared it last week after i had it done. I'l let the garage know, but in the meantime i'll keep and eye on it.

Where are these sensors? Any chance they are a push plug type that might have been a little lose or is it completely different?

Not yet. Gonna be lookin at the timing belt tomorrow to see if its out. I'm 99% sure it is now. My rr graph suggest its pulling back at 5k which sounds about right for retarded timing out a tooth etc..

Have you just had your timing belt done?

but i have this code and i haven't had timing belt done. This was done 10.000 miles ago. Haven't done anything to the car. Is it that easy for belt to slip?

sorry to bring up an old topic, but i have had this fault on my car ages. did you lot get it fixed??
i really dont think its my timing belt, due to the fact that my car is running perfectly fine, and not pulling back at high revs. idles fine, and good MPG.

anyway, i just need to know the position of sensors G28/G40. crankshaft and engine speed sensors
