whilst searching for the vag-com connection, I found that the other end of m cd changer cable is not actually connected to the headunit.

how do I do this:shrug: ...as I am looking to get a cd changer very soon?

thanks in advance

in the boot on the left side(under the carpet) there should be a cd changer cable which you can connect to a connects2 cable then onto the cd changer

i. the headunit end need to be plugged into the headunit - it's pretty obvious, there's only one way round it will fit and only one hole it will fit in

ii. you only need a connects2 adapter/cable if you're fitting a Sony or some other aftermarket changer

how on earth did you find that out while searching for the obd port?

but the real question is what was it doing unplugged? as above there should be only one socket for it to fit in but to get to it may be tricky. not sure if its accessible from the drivers side. if your flexible enough, remove the plastic panel underneath and go up the back of the glove box.

otherwise may have to remove the fascia and pull it out

I pulled off the underneath panel on the passenger side instead of the drivers side.

does any one know if i can actually plug it in from the drivers side?...the cable is on the passenger side underneat the panel. I dont think that can work?

does any one know which side behind the HU i plug the cable into, i dont wanna try and remve it....da plastic looks cheap. if so how do you remove the HU.

no mate not the drivers side, thats why i was confused, but makes more sense now that you were looking on the passenger side and not the driver side. BTW the obd port is on the drivers side :p lol

i am fairly certain the changer port is on the passenger side

no mate im not 100%

but iv followed my lead before cos the previous owner left his amp wiring kit in and its in that region

if its not on the rear of the head unit, then it has to be on the back of the CC unit

there arent any rca outputs by the look of it. some sort of splitter lead has been used i think?? not very technical when it comes to ICE im afraid. its a type of lead that takes its feed from something else

you can get sub's with amps built in that can run off the battery power and feed off of the rear speakers.

we have one sat in our garage that Mike had in his ibiza.. i'll find out more and let you know if you are intersted in getting something like ours to fit.
