Rear Washer Jet

My rear washer jet has started to follow the wiper round in the last few days. It used to spray in the middle of the windowand the wiper moved over it. Now it moves with the wiper and ends up spraying pedestrians (not always a bad thing) ;)

has anyone else had this problem? Do I just need to repace the jet itself? Or Seat being Seat is it the whole motor assembly? Jet is £5 motor ass. is £80!

Did search but just got frozen and leaking jets.

Cheers.

You removed the cover and checked that the nut is tight or not too tight?. Sounds like the jet is turning with the movement of the arm?. You replaced the wiper arm recently?, fabia upgrade?.

Replaced the original arm with the Fabia upgrade about 9 months ago and also had the arm off again just after it started to do it. I thought it might be the nut or something but had it off and put it back on again (tight) and it still does it.

I had this on my LC. it turned out to be the post that contains the washer jet had snapped and ended up turning with the wiper blade. Had it replaced under warranty.

Hi, I had this problem with my leon when I got it. Was told that it needed a new motor as the spray was part of the assembly.

I did not question it as it was done under warrenty.

Hope this helps.

As finn said, it's a single unit so the whole lot needs to be replaced, mine was also done under warranty so no idea of the cost.

I'd guess it's easy enough to do yourself, so get the parts off one of the dealers on here, do the job yourself and save £60 labour charge

It might be. I nipped down to dealers earlier and had a quick chat and priced up washer jet and motor as they said it could be part of the motor. They were unsure but brought up the diagram on the computer. It looked on that like it might split down.

Will have a bash at the weekend and see how I go.

vagparts.com do repair kits for exactly this problem for £22.25. Trouble is they don't list one for the Leon.

Does anyone know if the motor is the same as another vag car e.g. mk4 golf or A3?

Also is it a Bosch or Valeo motor?

Cheers.
