After fiddling with my side repeaters the other day I noticed my R badges were both in poor state. The car is only over a year old and they have weathered very bad. [:@]. So I bought a couple of the below badges off ebay.

Not a bad price and the quality is very good. I am in the process of clear coating them anyway to add a bit more protection to the elements.

Just thought I'd give others something to think about as a cheaper alternative to some of the OEM badges available.

PS I'm not the ebay seller or associated to him in any way, just a satisfied customer :)

I need to replace all of mine. Was tempted by smoothuk's idea to use the red R of the audi RS4 but probably stay standard at this price. What's the process of clear coating them allan as mine are knackered and car is only 2 1/2 years old!? Post some piccies when your done please. Also how you get on with the side repeaters?

Yes pictures will be done soon. I'm just giving them a couple of coats of halfords clear laquer and see how that goes. It worked on an old alu aerial once and saved on early corrosion. Couple of light coats and let dry/harden for 24 hours between coats.

I ended up buying the same repeaters as you. Just waiting on delivery :)

I assume that these are better than the original badge in some way?

I had to put a new set on mine before Christmas, and I'm sure they were under a fiver each from Seat...

Having said that, they're looking a bit ropey already....

Not sure if they're better but I thought the OE ones were £9.99 from Seat?. I'm sure that's what the dealer paid that I got my car from (non-seat dealer) for some reason the rear R badge was missing and he ordered one in. Still had the receipt in the bag?.

A dealer for me is now a 20 mile round trip anyway so this saves me getting off my lazy ass :)

Either OE or these, I'd still laquer them.

Had all mine replaced for free by my local dealer as I complained, car was only a few months old at the time and they looked well scabby.

They didn't last long though, only a few months :( The chequered bit on the ones on the wings are almost completely white now, and the "R" is stained with grime which won't come off.

These ones on ebay look like very good copies! Would be very interested to know how they last compaired with original ones.

I'd rather pay a few quid for something that'll last than have to go back to the dealer every few months...

Just recently got three from local seat dealer cost £16.82 inc VAT . previous owner had the RS audi badges fitted . prefer the standard badges .
Just the R with red dash minus the S might be quite cool though . different

No because that would mean a trip to show them, time for them to be received and maybe a trip to pick them up if not wait for postage.

I couldn't be bothered waiting. :)

well i would have called the dealer and told them... mine knows me and would have taken my word for it and ordered it for me and then i would have gone there to collect them/fit them

they normally get parts on next day delivery too! so it would have been the quickest and cheapest option! :p ;)
