cupra/cupra r owners, how many miles per year...

are you doing in your cars?

i'm trying to find out as much as i can on cupras/ cupra r's/ cupra tdi's because i'm planning to move up the ladder car wise. i currently drive a 1.2 corsa but i only commute 15 miles per day so i don't need anything bigger than that at the minute. but a job change in the near future will see me covering about 70/80 miles per day. mostly on A and B roads as northern ireland is still pretty rural for the most part.

so instead of doing 4k per year travelling to work, i'll be looking at closer to 20k. this to me seems a bit much to be doing in a petrol car! but i have fallen in love with a red cupra r:cry: , so i'm in a dilema. go with the diesel version, save money and content myself. or pay the extra in terms of fuel, insurance and tax and have the better looking more powerful petrol variety?

because i live so close to the border, i nip over to the south to buy my petrol so it only costs 75pence per litre which would help running costs.

what sort of range is expected from a full tank from cupra r and a cupra tdi, and what size is the tank?
i know a 200bhp car isn't bought for fuel economy but if the fun of driving it outweighs the fuel economy of the derv i could see past it.

cost of buying the car isn't a problem but if the running costs are too big my girlfriend will roast me lol

btw, sorry for rambling on a bit and thanks in advance for any info

I do 35 miles each way to work and back daily so I'm racking up the miles, but a car is there to be used. Provided I look after it there shouldn't be an issue. In time I may try to move closer to work or buy a run around and save the leon for the weekend ;)

I love driving my leon and sometimes wish I lived further away from work ;)
I think I normally get about 360 miles from a full tank which costs about £45 if memory serves me right.

You can pick cupra's up for peanuts these days and what you save on the cost of the car you can stick in your tank ;)

You wont find many cars fot the price of a cupra with the same options/looks and performance.Trust me I've tried.

How about considering a FR+? Full Cupra-R Kit and good fuel consumption.Get a remap it and wont be far off a Cupra-R performance wise either and alot cheaper insurance to boot.

??????? how do you manage to get that many miles on a tank full?? i am WAY off, i can barely get 260, fair enough it's all small roads but still a massive difference. not even driving fast either - don't get the chance!

I do about 20k a year in my LCR (55 litres, 280-340 miles depending on drive style), I normally fill up every week at a cost of £45-50 depending on how close I get to the red line, but then you get the big trips occasionally which means I spend £100 odd a week on fuel.

I could do it cheaper, but it wouldn't be as much fun. Besides, my commute is 22 miles of pure B roads, lots of stop/start so a diesel wouldn't be that much better anyhow.

When I fill up thats what my computer says. I do alot of motorway driving but I have a heavy right foot so normally get about 240 as well. If I took it easy I might be able to get somewhere close to what the computer says. however not sure how accurate they are and lets be honest no point having the power if you can't enjoy it!!!

Go for an FR+

Im going to get about 430-450 miles out of my first tank and thats with some reasonably spirited driving, plus got the looks of the Cupra R (but with 17"s not 18"s)

i do over 30k a year in my 2004 lcr which is currently at 76k miles. Usually get between 330-380miles per tank. If driven gently on motorways have managed 480 miles from tank! If driven hard will drop to 250-280 miles
