Very nice! Halfords sell those in a matt finish that looks very smart. Halfords often do good deals with the tyres you can chose too, so well worth a look.

yeah definitely, i am a big fan of the black centres with chrome lip

picking up a 2001 Leon Cupra hopefully next weekend, and plan to go very euro on it, slammed, those rims and smoothed bumpers, and thats it

this one will be for show and shine competitions

In that case, the matt finish versions would look superb. The chrome is shiny as you would expect, but the black bits are matt finish, really nice contrast.

19's!!

bimey

have you not had to roll the arches? thing is cos i am going for the euro look and want to lower mine quite a bit, although not too much cos the roads are in such a dreadful state, rims that size would be an issue

the Leon comes with 16's standard, so a set of 17's and lowered will be just right i think

No need to roll the arches... mine is on coilovers so thats about as low as you can get on the leon.....
Again the roads aint anygood, but i do try and look onto the road for pot holes etc and avoid them.

The thing i will say Harvey... if you get black chrome rimmed wheels, if you want 18" wheels visually, you will need to buy 19"s as basically the lip makes the wheel appear smaller than it is.... e.g. alot of people mistake my wheels for 18"s from a distance, only when i park up against a car with 17-18"s they notice it...

You can actually get 20"'s on but thats a whole different ball game!

thanks for the advice, not too sure about going anything bigger than 17's really

looking at other Leons with 17's and lowered, they look good i thought...

if you have seen the thread about the best looking Leon? some nice examples on there as well

i have had cars before with 17's on, bigger than what was on their as factory form and it did effect the power a little, i.e. bigger power losses with more wheel to drive of course

what are the effects of 17's like on a standard Leon?

Nice choice of wheel

Cupra's run on 17's anyway I beleive. The change to 18's due to lower profile tyre would be minimal

You might also wish to consider these:
