Well i had my car MOT'd....and it passed without problem thankfully.

But the garage did mention that the front wishbone bushes will need changing as they are starting to go.

Has anyone changed these, How easy are they? Can i just buy the bushes on their own? Or do i have to get a garage to fit these and if so how much on average is it?

Cheers

I got these replaced on the Toledo a few months ago (more than likely the same bushes) and vs. labour time stripping the old ones out, it was actually cheaper to replace the wishbones.

You could do this yourself no problems ... it's usually common practice to burn old bushes out with a blowtorch - might be fun, if you have the tools

TBH, if it was standard parts you were replacing them with ... think the wishbones were in the order of £35 each, it's probably easiest replacing the whole lot

Not sure if i should be let loose with one of those things.

Powerflex looks good but not sure if they are the right ones or not.

I had to replace these on a previous car and it was a BI*CH without special tools. There is so little room at the top of the arm. Also what you don't know is what else is going to need replacing.
I fitted front wheel bearing recently and had to replace a track-rod-end ball joint. It made the job take twice as long.

Also you will have to have the tracking checked.
