been out today for a cross country drive of about 8 miles, the vrs hadn't even got to full working temp when i could here the turbo "fluttering" sounded almost the same as that laggy sound when heat soaked.but still pulled pretty strongly.
having recently fitting of TIP i of course checked the clamps, even managed to get an arm down to the turbo inlet side and that felt fine too.
checked every hose i could think of and the only one that seems to be a problem is this fella.
tip004.jpg

as you can see it's kinked a little ,the only way i see to straighten it out is to trim a little off and straighten it out.
the car seemed to loose mid range and top end power,2k rpm and the turbo whistles as per norm ,but 3k plus it flutters and sound shite, and struggles.
after fitting the TIP it was fine for a few days so i can kinda rule that out.
no boost gauge at the moment as i broke a vac hose T piece and have been at work late all this week(but a straight hose was fitted so no loss here.) .
And no engine management lights either.
i know there are many variables but i am off to work in a very few minutes and I would like to come home tonight (probably LATE tonight) and find a few pointers.

flutter is the DV not letting off enough charged air, check the vac cable on top of the DV and the DV isnt faulty. the pcv valve you pointed out is kinked and wont cause any issuse, mine was kinked allot worse than that and i had no problems.

found it!!!
turbo to exhaust manifold bolts were loose.
we could onLY see 2 i'm presuming there's 4?
is it a turbo pipe off job the get at the ones closest to the manifold/back of the block.
tightened the two outer ones and the engine went instantly quiet.car seems to have a bit more zip, maybe loosing boost gradually until the it went noisy
what type of gasket is it? is it likely i need to replace if its "paper" typeor is it a metal flavoured one?

well off to work i go with a smile on my face and my hat at a launty angle.
neighbours with pits

Three bolts Jase, one toward the Manifold, two towards the back of the car.

You'll have to take the charge pipe and heatshield away to access.

Metal 'crush' gasket.

It's worth using a new gasket AND NEW BOLTS.

PS Your DV and PCV valve are swapped.

could you possibly send a pic... i have a similar issue pretty sure its the 3 seventeen mm bolds however i CAN access all three (not easily but the spanner will reach.) so i'm wondering if its not the t/e/m bolts. (leon cupra 180 54 plate) (gone 5 or six times in 6 weeks now... fun fun fun
