Is there a tuning box for the FR TDI available yet?

there is one for the 140 BHP TDI engine but I can't find any info for the 170......

Any help would be great!

Get yourself a custom map, otherwise you may have to wait a few months...

P-Torque, Bell Autos, etc... should be able to help you out.

not aware of any company doing remaps for the FR TDi 170 yet, some have them but will not release them not since Superchips mapped a 170 and it caught fire due to the DPF being blocked.few months and hopefully they will be able to cure it and the EGR issues.
 
i dont know if you have it in the UK but SKN from Germany have maps for you engine and are very good
 
and does anyone know the long term results of the maps, because like what has been said there are issues with the DPF on remapped cars after so many miles. I sure there are people out there who can map it now, but its whether the map is ok 20k down the line....
 
We are mapping these now.

It does mean the map is not the strongest, but we are still seeing very good results.

Approx 25bhp and 70 - 75NM can be gained.

Tuning boxes are a nightmare 90% of the time anyway, so I wouldn't put one on the 170bhp model.
 
The particulate filter thing, I can't see TBH how any increase in power won't cause it to block more quickly. I know nothing about mechanics but can't see how software could get round this if the flow of gas through this filter is increased?

I don't think it's the flow of gas, but the extra soot production that the DPF can't burn off properly.
 
But even if a map can be made which does not increase the soot, surely there could still be problems because you'll have the same percentage of soot per cubic CM of exhaust but with more cubic CMs flowing though so more soot per minute... if you know what I mean.

I'd imagine the only way round it would be to reduce the soot so the increased flow means the DPF operates as it would when the car is standard.
 
When I spoke to Jabbasport they mentioned that Miltek are looking at an alternative DPF - anyone heard of any other people who may be doing this?
 
Its all about generating enough heat to/in the exhaust so that the dpf can do its job , but also the dpf need to be able to withstand a higher degree of heat and not start coming apart.

204 Bhp + 420nm

Steinbauer do a P-Box. I cant say what there are like, cough cough, in case big brother is looking in, but the car goes like **** :) , ( I would image). Best £450 extra, money can buy.
