TDi FR Brake pad confusion

Ordered some brake pads from an online motofactor a week or so ago, took my car to have them fitted on Sunday - for the mechanic to tell me they were the wrong fitment.

Raging that he cant fit my brakes and suspension (want it doing at the same time) - I contacted the motofactors. They're adament about them being correct.


I only provided them with the registration of the car - so no chassis number. Could this cause the mistake?

I really need to know what to buy for my car - as my pads are down to the metal, and I dont want to cause any damage to my disks.


Any ideas what exactly to ask for when I go to a (non online) motofactors?

i had a look in halfrauds at the weekend and found the same thing, according to the little book theres four different brake systems each having a different brake pad shape for a 2002 - now ibiza, take a pad with you and find out which kind you need

I phoned the local Motorfactors and was told there are two types of pads, one with wear indicators and ones without, Obviously Ibiza are without, and the price was £35 plus VAT.

Yeah, the ones I got had wear indicators - but apparently they can be easily chopped off.

Unfortunately this still doesnt solve the fact that the pads are completely the wrong shape and size

Went to a local motofactors today, showed them the pads I had been sent - and it turns out they sent me some for the 100bhp sport models, and the FR pd130 ones are slightly bigger. I've got the bigger ones, need to wait till saturday though to see if they actuallly fit!
