Valuation of my car.

2003 Leon Cupra R in Flash Red with 19,400 miles. No extra's with no scratches to any of the bodywork, and no scratches on any alloy. Also the spare alloy has no markings.

What would the price roughly be at? I know someone will link a parker's page, but when you compare prices on the autotrader and pistonheads, there all over the place?

In October I paid £10200 for an 03 plate LCR with 33k miles. So I'd suggest £10k would be a fair price.

Autotrader seems to agree with me, which is nice to know.

i wouldnt sell mine for less than £9000 if that and mine has done 56k miles milage isnt an issue with cars anymore especially new they are built to last for 100k's miles so if i was you advertise it for 10000 dont sell it for less than £9500 if you cant get a buyer then lower the asking price to £9500 but dont sell for less 9k whatever you do

RobM 10K for an 03 would have to pristine and even then its a bit high. I've looked quite extensively at prices on autotrader and Pistonheads too and I think £10K will get you an 04 plate with around 20 to 30K miles in todays market. 03 therefore needs to be 9K max imo

i dont know i think it all depends on how well the new cupra does as to what affects the price at the moment we are in that transitional phase where knowone really knows what price to buy and sell at and we prob wont do till 3 months after launch

To be fair, mine came from a dealer with warranty etc so is obviously a bit higher than a private deal, but I'm looking at Autotrader at the moment and any Cupra R's with less than 20k miles are over £10k.

(for info... I searched for Seat Leon and put up to 20k as the mileage option and 'Cupra R' as the model to get those results)

I will be probably putting mine up for sale next week and was thinking asking £9250 / 9500 and accepting around £9k.
It is a June 03 210 with full dealer service history and only 35,000 miles. It has a few stone chips, a couple of parking dents and one alloy has a good scratch on it - although the spare has never been out of the boot.

Thoughts?

I bought my 54 plate Silver LCR for 11.5k privately from a bloke who originally wanted 13k back in Nov'06. It only had 1 previous owner and FSSH with 21k on the clock. Totally imacculate apart from a small hole in the rear seat which had been repaired. I would say I could still get between 11.5k and 12k even today..

Anybody with any car buying experience is going to consult glasses guide or parkers and see these figures. To be asking more privately than a dealer would ask is pushing it a bit.

... It's a valid point... but show us a LCR with 19K on the clock up for sale for less than £10K. What you advertise for is generally not what you sell it for.

I think SEAT dealers would have that up for £12K

There aren't many LCR's around though. Looking on Seat's website there are only two LCR's in the whole country for less than 11k. Only one of these is anywhere near me (38 miles away) and that is a 2002 model with square mirrors and another 20,000 miles than mine.

That was my point. Regardless of what Parkers and whatnot say, you don't advertise your car for the price you expect to sell it at. Autotrader has nothing with less than 20k miles for under £10k so you would be stupid to advertise for less than that. Advertise it for £10250 or something and you'll still be under the price of many similar cars.

But at the same time, keep in mind the price that Parkers et el suggest and be prepared to haggle.

i would say 10,250. The Cupra R can vary quite wildly in price, but that becuase some people want them completely untouched, some want them done up to the nines, and peoples opinions on a "pristine car" also vary.

There no way you would get a dealer selling that car for less than 10.5k so parkers is full of crap.

I sold a LCR last year for 9500, and now its back on the forum for 9200. If it sells he has only lost £300 in 8 months. I would say thats pretty good.

I have just paid £10,300 for a 2003 platinum LCR with recaro and 35k. Thats from a dealer with 12 month MOT, 12 warranty, 6 months tax and a serice. And it really is a minter! They had 6 enquiries the same week. So if it is tidy people are willing to pay it.

Dont let it go for silly money definetly no less than 9,500 with that mileage. But stick it in for 10,250 and test the water.

Dealer's have offered me £10,300 .... on trade-in. But I'm not happy with that specific car. I think Just over £10,000 is fair. According to Parkers too.
