Just bought a Cupra R...

...Great vehicle!

Sold my 350Z last week as girlfriend needed a new car, so mine had to make way to become two new ones.

The power delivery is superb, actually feels quicker than the Z due to the turbo and is very easy to drive compared to the Z.

A few questions:

1) How long should I expect the splitter on the front to last?!?!? I've almost destroyed it on speed bumps, going down ramps into car parks, etc. already!

2) When does the cam belt need changing?!?!? Can't seem to find this info anywhere!

3) What kind of mpg do you Cupra R boys get? I haven't bought it expecting it to be economical, but am just interested.

4) Revo - worth it???

Thanks a lot!

Scon.

1) Judt go really slowly over bumps and avoid multi story car parks at all costs and it will be fine

2)60k miles is when i am changing mine as this is the time roughly when the water pump starts to fail as its made of plastic but get it changed to a brass one and whilst the cam belt is off you may aswell replace it

3) 21MPG when booting it 29-34MPG on motorway

4)Yes definatly

The splitter is very tough and i still have original after 57k miles although it has seen better days and i really need to replace it soon.

Cambelt and waterpump reccomended at 60000 miles.

On standard mapping power you can get around 32mpg if you drive sensibly, but with a bit of spirited driving added in, will drop to around 26-28mpg. On a long motorway run, not exceeding 3000rpm you may even see about 35mpg but where's the fun in that lol.

Remapped, you will use a little bit more fuel:)

Revo along with other remaps, yes they are the best thing since sliced bread. Totally transforms the car:)

Splitter only costs about £18-20, so it's no nightmare when it does need replacing to be honest..
Welcome to the LCR team mate anyway..
Oh and get Revo asap I say.. lol

You won't regret it mate, trust me.. It's just so effortless to drive when done (massive torque) with the added bonus of it going like $hite off a shovel.. lol
As Mitchy says, "Transforms the car"... Enjoy!!!

Ive been getting an avarage of about 25-26 mpg driveing sensibly and 20-22 mpg on a spirited drive in the country.

Is there something wrong you think?

I doubt there is anything wrong... other than, perhaps, your version of 'sensible' ;)

I tend to average around 26-28MPG with a mix of sensible pottering down the motorway and a heavy right foot on dual carriageways.

sensible is useing 90% throttle instead of the 100% isnt it. ;) . Your prob right tho, thinking about it most journeys do tend to have a small poke of the right pedal.

;) Know what you mean! I tend to drive along sensibly on the motorway following other traffic, but when the opportunity is there to poke the loud peddle or to upset a Type-R or BMW driver, I'll gladly take it ;)

The loud pedal, lol. Need to upset the bmw drivers, they allways have that smug look on there face.

Cambelt is 60k or 4 years which ever comes first (new guidelines out recently) and as mentioned get the brass TT 225 impellor done at the same time.

Some people use Revo some use others but Custom Code is another favourite to throw into the mix.
