Alternatives to Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3

I'm looking to change my tyres and I want to try something else than the F1's I have at the moment (don't get me wrong, they are good but I might switch to something else).

My options are:

- Uniroyal Rainsport 1 - same price as F1's
- Vredestein Ultrac - a bit more expensive that those two

What do think of them? Anyone tried'em and can make a comparison with the F1 GS-D3?

I'm looking for 225/45R17.

Cheers

I've tried Toyo Proxy T1-S and T1-R's and essentially in the dry they are much the same as the F1's. These and the Eagle F1's are pretty poor if the temperatures are low and its damp/wet.

Michelin Pilot Sports are supposed to be OK, but you'll pay dear for them. Obvioulsy the P-Zero Rossos should be avoided.

Couldn't vouch for your choices of tyres on a Leon, had the Uniroyals on a Mk2 Golf GTi 16V and they were great in the wet (unsurprisingly), and so-so in the dry.

Vredestein are mentioned first by Reg in that post, so have another read.

But, if you're gonna be like that...

I searched for 'Vredestein' and found pages of results.. the above links are the first few. So next time, before calling people names, actually put a little effort in yourself.

I can do the same for 'Uniroyal' if you like and I bet the same happens again....

I had Vredestein Ultrac's fitted and they were cr*p, no grip with tyres at 31-33psi, at lower pressure there was better grip but the car felt like it was drifting all over the road. Just didn't suit the car.
Gave them back and got GSD3's instead :)
