hi all, been to my seat dealer, and bought the delocking kit for my leon. (04 FR) got the two parts the cover and the blank barrel.

was looking to install it but after talking to my brother (him having a Mk4 Golf) am not sure if it is a good idea? he said when he delocked his he got a third part called metaldisc. its a security disc that fits at the back of the lock to stop poeple just nocking off the fake lock and sticking a screw driver down and getting in your car. :censored:

i went back to seat and they did not have a clue what i was on about. they looked at the order numbers for passenger door and this part did not come up. i went to the VW garage and they haev stopped selling this part! as all new cars are fitted with this security device! (re call in 1998 to get this done after alot of break ins) :D

has anyone else heard of this? i know where to get one from??

i read on a VW website that its only 5mm in DIA and about a 1mm thick!

can any1 help?! [B)]

METALDISC is the actual partnumber for the "metaldisc" your brother got, tell tham to enter that in the computer and see.

By the way do you have the part numbers for the other two bits you got? Looking to do this myself.

Thanks,
Neil.

Is that a typo ? You've got to have a pretty specialist screwdriver to turn a 5mm lock barrel opening

The hole my lock came out of looked more like a 5p sized hole tbh

Meeeep Meeeeep !!!!!
metaldisc is the part number for the item on the SEAT database. The part is free as well. Whole delock kit comes to £4 inc vat from Premier SEAT in Stoke.
Got my kit last December.

Oh and it certainly is smaller than a 5p piece and bloody fiddly to get in. Best to order a couple incase you drop one into the door.
